Not going to refund this one, but this isn't a game for me. Its a bit too clunky.... But... This one feels cruel to thumbs down or get a refund, its a good effort of a game and when that happens... I can't let my own lack of patience and furstrations towards the game go. The creator(s) has at least my support at least, good job, its a good game, just not one for me. I can see the attraction for those with tons of time and patience for it. Its like other survivor games, but has too many tools and actions to do and too much to learn at the start. If the entire game was made simple... It would actually make the game 10x worst and not better. Usually I comment if a game is too hard for newbie or people who want to learn a game in 15 minutes like myself... But that doesn't do this one justice. The game is GOOD because its got a fiddle and steep learning curve. Its good because its trying something new and different to Minecraft and other similar games. The games... Too cheap and I think that is bad. Less then £7 for a game with a lot of potential to be a nice great little piece? This should be in the £15 range min. Don't abandon it, please bring it out of early access. I'd like to see it leave Early Access.

At first I found this game rather boring and tedious, it seemed like a nightmare to survive and that EVERYTHING was out to get you (cause it was). Thankfully the dev revamped the entire reputation system so chopping down 2 trees would no longer give you the status of a bloody war criminal. I've been playing on and off for a bit now and I am enjoying the crafting system, you genuinely feel like you're improving and unlocking more things to craft. Creating your first "base" is pretty time consuming and confusing at times but once you finish it will feel like an achievement. The game offers dungeon-crawler-like aspects, it is turn based and has a permadeath mode, descending stairs or traversing to the east side of the map will increase difficulty. My biggest problems at the moment are the slightly overwhelming UI and the pathetic durability of glass/clay bottles, with low chemistry skills you can easily wreck bottles just trying to purify some damn water. The soundtrack is atmospheric and definitely suits the game, there are a reasonable amount of tunes but I would love to hear more! Nonetheless I would recommend this game to people who like high complexity rougelikes and survival/building games. Updates are somewhat infrequent but they are high-quality, I appreciate that the dev is trying his best to improve the game as much as possible. Also definitely has more content than it's current price tag suggests!

Great game to chill out and explore/fight/craft to awesome lofi-vibes music. Devs listen to feedback and push bugfixes and QOL frequently, while still not neglecting new features. They have their priorities right. If you want a cool survival game to get happily sucked into, give this a try. Good for casual players, hardcore players, and completionists. I would recommend using only cosmetic mods for a while (read: Early Access), though plenty other cool ideas exist in the Steam Workshop. The Fantasy Customizations mod never seems to break, no matter how many updates go by, and adds a lot of personality to your character. Most other mods seem to get a bit left behind, as the game changes significantly (mostly behind the scenes) with every update. Once Wayward settles down on major changes the modding community can take off, though. I look forward to seeing where this game goes! Major props to the soundtrack- I get instant serotonin upon loading up the game and hearing the music start. It's also dynamic (can be changed in settings if you don't like this) so it changes based on your situation, which is a nice indicator for me since I have bad vision and might miss something otherwise. Honestly, the audio feedback in general is helpful and great for accessibility. The game is customizable to be as menu-lite or menu-heavy as you want. Set everything automatic in your toolbar and just walk into trees to chop them, or go through a menu to choose which action to take. It can be overwhelming at first, but it's there to help you- use as much or as little of it as you want. Controller/Steam Deck play is kinda meh, but they're working on it over time. It's really meant to be a mouse/keyboard game. Tl;dr, Wayward is chill vibes survival with very few bugs and good QOL, new features on the way, Steam Workshop support, and responsive devs. Give it a chance if you like the genre. :)

I give it a Yes but with a stipulation: Stop calling it Early Access and finish the main game already, and just call this stuff you're doing now content updates. It's been in EA for the past 10 years at LEAST by now. It's a great game, tons of systems, tons of things to do, but at this point I can't call it Early Access it's just a finished game that gets free content updates at this point and I genuinely think framing it like that would be better publicity for you as a Developer than continuing to call it EA

I bought this game quite a few years ago. It was rough at the time, But I really like the work that has been put into it! It is currently a very Satisfying to play! It is absolutely worth it in its current state. A few problems: In quite a few places, the interface does not give enough information to new players to explain how things work. The following questions should be able to be answered through the interface: -How will using glue, hammer repairs and other tools effect weight and durability of the item being repaired? -Why is my ore smelting marked as poor quality in the log when I am using bronze tongs and a clay crucible? These seem to be the best items that can be made. Is it lack of skill? Are there more items I need to unlock? -There needs to be a way to choose to use high quality or low quality ingredients when crafting. I don't want to burn all of my high quality needles and string making sutures when I need them for other things. maybe right click uses best quality, left click uses only base quality ingredients for crafting? I also get the issue of freshwater being used for glue instead of seawater, and feathers being used to light fires instead of twigs. Managing this is too much of a pain. -Some key recipes like smelting tin, making glass, and building a boat are too difficult to "stumble" upon: Something similar to terraria's guide is needed that will at least tell you some of the recipes for some of the more complicated important items, as well as a hint of where to get some of the ingredients. I never unlocked the boat recipe because I did not have a paddle. Logically, Why would I build a paddle if I do not have a boat to use the paddle with? -There needs to be a "quick stack to nearby chests" option like in terraria, and chests need to have a higher inventory capacity. I swear I spend 1/4 of my time sorting my chests in this game.
