Why you should or should not play We Were Here Too What is We Were Here Too? In this game you and a friend must solve puzzles in order to escape this insane enviornment you have been forced into. Quick Pros ✔ Interesting story ✔ Memorable characters ✔ Good world building ✔ Emotional moments ✔ Unique mechanics ✔ Easy to learn controls ✔ Deep gameplay systems ✔ Good balance of challenge and reward ✔ Lots of different playstyles ✔ Multiple endings or paths ✔ Randomized elements keep things fresh ✔ Long playtime potential Quick Cons ✘ Graphics feel dated ✘ Environments can feel empty Initial Thoughts: The reason I did not fill out this category is because I originally played this a long time ago and my 'initial thoughts' are no longer 'initial.' Beginner Player Friendly? I would argue this game is beginner player friendly. There is a small tutorial that somewhat explains what to do however the rest of the puzzles are up to you to figure out. Game Play: In most cases you and your friends are stuck between walls and rooms and have limited communication through a walkie talkie. Your mission is to escpae and to do that you have to challenge yoruselves to get through the numourus puzzles that stand between you and freedom. Graphics: Although the graphics are old they do give off exactly what this game intends, which is a creepy enviornment with castle undertones. The graphics are simple in order to also lead you into the right direction and help you navigate where to go from your next puzzle. I believe this game could run on lower end systems. Community: Though smaller, this community is filled with the theorists and puzzle enthusiasts that enjoy this game style. Everyone here seems to be friendly and although this game is older I am sure that someone would be able to give you a helping hand if you need some assistance. How long can you play? To complete the game and multiple endings it only took me and one other around 8 hours to complete this game. There is not to much replayability either. If you are looking for a short and sweet style game to challenge your mind then this may be a game for you to try. However, if you are looking for a game that has the ability to have multiple hours poured into it then this game is not ideal. My Opinion: In my opinion, I remember having so much fun in this game, however I do not think I would play it again in the near futute. You need a friend in order to fully enjoy this game and I have already played it once and it seems to repeat most of the puzzles answers making it predictable if you want to play again. If you played the first game, you definitely know what to expect. This is essentially the same game, but with a larger number of puzzles, and they are more sophisticated this time around. In short, it's a puzzle game where you solve everything through voice communication with your partner, and this is the only way to play it. I had an absolute blast playing this game. The maze sequence was communication heaven (or hell) and the theatre section completely melted my brain. Technically, the game hasn't improved since the first one - I can say it became worse, which is unusual considering the first game started as a student project. There are plenty of bugs and quite a few netcode issues. This game is less of a puzzle-solver and more of a "how long can I talk into a radio before my friend loses their mind" test. You’re trapped in separate rooms, desperately trying to describe a weird symbol that looks like a pregnant spider, while your partner is screaming because they’re about to be drowned or crushed. Communication is everything, but somehow you’ll realize that you and your best friend speak two completely different languages. It’s a terrifying and brilliant experience where the real enemy isn't the castle, but your friend’s inability to distinguish between "circle" and "oval." Verdict: We survived the puzzles, but we’re not speaking to each other anymore.
