Nov. 2025
UPDATE: Completed the game. I wish Steam had a "Eh, Maybe" recommendation or something instead of just a "yes" or "no." Like... it's definitely not a great game, but since Werewolf games are rare and many of them are far worse than this one... this game is definitely a pick up if you like Werewolves. But only because there isn't anything else out there that'll scratch that itch. Once an actually good Werewolf game is released with actual interactive combat and isn't just a Visual Novel, then this will definitely no longer be recommended. You want to have fun as a Werewolf? Then play this game. But even so, please... only ever get this game when it's on sale. It's absolutely not worth the $30 and you'll regret paying that much for a game that feels like it was released in 2008. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ I got this game when the 2025 "Scream!" Sale began. Since it wasn't on sale then, I was thinking it wasn't going to... which would be weird since it'd be the perfect "Halloween" sorta game for Werewolf fans. Well, a few days later, it finally did go on sale. I unfortunately played too long for the refund on the cheaper price and there was NO information that this game was going to go on sale just a few days after the "Scream!" sale started. All that to say: It absolutely is NOT worth the full price. Always get this game on sale if you really want to try it out. I'm a fan of the World of Darkness TTRPG and even ran a Werewolf: The Forsaken campaign once. It had been over a decade since then, but most of the basic information was still in my memory so I could understand some of the lore tied to this game... even though it barely mattered. For a game released in 2022, it plays and looks like an HD remaster of a game made in 2008. I haven't even completed the game and already I've seen all that the game has to provide in terms of gameplay. It's not dynamic in the slightest and the characters are incredibly subpar. I haven't even completed the story, but so far there is hardly any intrigue and nothing really making me excited to keep playing. It's your basic "Nature against Human Expansion" story. Now, there isn't anything wrong with that particular story trope. It's just that this is a story where that trope isn't done very well and it hurts the appeal of this game greatly. I even knew of all that before I even bought the game, as the Mixed review score is fairly accurate... so why did I even bother to get the game anyways? Well, if you are a fan of Werewolf stuff and want to try a game that at least scratches that itch (hah), then this is at least worthwhile compared to the other non-Visual Novel games out there that I have seen. In my opinion, it's difficult to come across a decent enough Werewolf game that actually has decent Werewolf combat gameplay that feels somewhat fun at least. This will provide that, especially if you don't care in the slightest about the stealth nonsense. For all the effort you can put into trying to be stealthy in the missions, it doesn't provide any benefit nor change the outcome in any way. You wanna rip and tear as a big Werewolf and unleash carnage? Go right ahead, there's no punishment for that either. For that reason alone, I do keep playing, because it is nice to just go into Werewolf rage mode and easily clear out one room after another. But that's about all the joy I'm getting out of this game. Everything else is just ... meh. TL;DR: 5/10 at best. Maybe a 6/10 if you really like Werewolf stuff. Always... ALWAYS get this game when it's on sale, it is NEVER worth the full price.

It's a very average game, but damn it is fun to play as a werewolf.

I have a lot of fairly complicated thoughts on this game both as a standalone piece of media and also as an adaptation of Werewolf the Apocalypse as a gargantuan WTA fan. Im torn between two sides, a more objective view that recognizes the game definitely has a ton of problems. Its not the most mechanically complex thing in the world, DMC or Dishonored this is absolutely not, its not the most visually appealing thing in the world (some cutscenes, especially with Tank Girl early on are downright ugly), and the story has some definite major weakpoints throughout. Namely a lot of early on line deliveries, the lines themselves, and how quickly the protagonist going into a frenzy is kinda dropped alternatively, all come to mind. But despite all of that, I think the game manages to do justice to Werewolf the Apocalypse while also standing on its own two feet as a genuinely enjoyable game if you know you're not going into some hidden modern masterpiece. I do genuinely really enjoy the Batman Arkham style hybrid of stealth to weaken your enemies before becoming a beatemup and find it a genuinely satisfying loop that doesnt make your mistakes feel too bad, the beatemup gameplay itself isnt the most complex, but it remains legitimately fun with only one or two arenas in the entire game that feels a little frustrating. The game is a bit on the easy side, said as someone who played on the normal difficulty, but if you're not the kinda person who needs ball busting difficulty, thats maybe a positive. And narratively the story does some really cool things throughout, and seriously picks up come Act 2, especially as a WTA adaptation, with a very simple, but extremely well done final choice I wont spoil. If you're a fan of Werewolf the apocalypse/World of Darkness, or even want a basic introduction to the setting to see if you may like it, I couldnt reccomend the game enough, especially if you can grab it on sale for $3 on 2am on a Tuesday like I did. Plus dear god we need more WoD games in general If not, then I'd say still probably grab it for sale. Took me 10 hours to beat the game on my first playthrough, and it is a legitimately fun time for what it is. Also the protagonist is hot in all forms 8.5/10 for WoD/WTA fans 6.9 or 7.1/10 for non-WoD/WTA fans

Fun game. Maybe I'm so very jaded with endless treadmill live service nonsense these days but this genuinely felt like a well thought out and fun experience. I can't stand Assassin's Creed and find stealth mechanics in most games so agonisingly annoying. This felt simple, you can be quiet and methodical or you can turn everything in the room into chunky salsa. Depends on the kinda day you're having. Story and characters - these are subjective. If you don't connect to a story or characters, the reason isn't always that's it's bad writing, it's just not for you. People that enjoyed the story of Fallout 4 or Doom Eternal for instance are a different breed to myself. I thought the character's motives and intent were easy to understand and they felt interesting enough to question and pursue dialogue with, which is all you want from a game that's mostly about knocking corpo butt sniffer's heads into a wall. If you're checking reviews, always remember to just love what you love regardless of others. If you like the mythos and energy of nature fighting back against cold consumerism, this is your game. If you want comparisons: I'd say it's a soft mix of Batman Arkham Asylum and Prototype, except you can be a giant angry furry that throws cars! I don't often leave reviews but maybe I should start. Seeing these passion projects get s*** on by people with hundreds of hours sank into Ubisoft games is starting to irk. :L
