I'm not much of a Battle Royale or Warzone fan, but the game is still enjoyable overall, despite the numerous bugs and lack of major content and balance changes. Don't expect to play with many real players, but rather with bots due to the low player count in a majority of the matches that I have played.
I like this game a lot, though it's difficult to outright recommend if you don't know what you're getting in to. However, I won't leave a negative review, because again, I like this game. So what is it? Wild Assault is basically Battlefield in third-person, but for furries (though it takes itself seriously). Each character (Valiant) has their own unique abilities and ultimate (similar to Overwatch). There are many weapons in the game, but only certain characters can use certain types of weapons. I won't talk about balance because it's too deep of a topic for me and paying attention to a bunch of numbers is boring; I just play as whoever looks cool, and use whichever gun feels right. Playerbase The big elephant in the room is that the player count is pretty low; you'll run in to familiar faces often. If you've ever dipped in to a long-forgotten multiplayer game with a niche playerbase, you'll appreciate the sense of community that comes with seeing the same names over and over, but if you don't jive with it, that could be a major turnoff. Ideally, there would be more players. It's unfortunate given that there's clearly an effort here to create something both unique and interesting. I wonder what an F2P model could do for this game, but I also worry that F2P with little to no engagement in its (few) microtransactions could spell death for such a title. Bots Thankfully, on top of the small handful of real players you'll find in your matches, the server will also be filled with bots. The bots aren't all that aggressive, and they do seem to move in lines at times, but they're absolutely necessary for the scale of battles that this game strives to achieve. Without them, the game just wouldn't be playable (unless you enjoy large maps with 5 players) so, I really appreciate their inclusion. They make matches feel like genuine warzones, and give you something to shoot at which is something I'll never complain about. Microtransactions? As for monetization, there is a skins shop alongside paid battlepasses. The inclusion of paid battlepasses is a bit questionable given given that there's a pricetag on this game, but it's something I'm willing to overlook given that this game is really cheap, and there are no time-restrictions on the battlepass content. If you like the free Jack skin from Season 1, you can still get it even a year later. Performance Lastly, this game runs on UE5; it's quite the looker, but I find that those graphics come at the cost of performance. My PC's quite a few years old now so I personally just turned everything to their lowest (the visuals are still decent thankfully), and use FSR framegen to help when things get hectic. Verdict Overall, I'd only recommend trying out this game if you find it appealing and are very aware of its small playerbase / necessary bots. If large playerbases are a must, then unfortunately this game probably isn't for you. P.S. for the devs; you guys should add a unicorn Valiant, or at least an equine. I'd also really like the ability to play this game offline, and possibly native support for controller remappings
