I like most of the Touhou Project games because of the lore. Mystia's izakaya and Fantasy Maiden Wars were precursors to me picking up this game and even then, I was skeptical... Yoiyami Dancers appeals to me in a different sense of the way. Their premise is that it's 'cute' and... Hah, yeah, it is. And that's probably why I'm recommending it. Yoiyami dancers' story is based around (some) yaokai girls creating an incident because of the 'P' symbols. They have to dance their way to uncover why the happened and therefore meet several characters along the way! The girls get to have their own (cute) storyline along the way! This is a rhythm-based game, and I suck at rhythm games and I'll never get good at it. But I do love the music that the protagonists are challenged with. The story progresses with cutscenes during the events and it rarely makes any sense in the best scenario... Then again, does it really have to? The game offers certain trials to do 'boss fights' in training mode after clearing each stage, so the player can repeat their mistakes and punish themselves. It offers amazing music while doing so and can therefore offer countless minutes of replayability. Asides from that, it's very basic and the controls don't always seem to work. The age old 'up-key' in combination with the 'left, down, and right' key combinations don't always work, perhaps it's different from a controller. Still, it's worth it. It doesn't even cost a lot. But I will admit that it's not worth it when not understanding the premise or the lore, because that'll ruin the experience... Or, perhaps that'll entice you to look into this franchise! P.S. If you release a vinyl of the soundtrack, let me know. The music is amazing!

WHAT THE HELL ITS PEAK! crypt of the necrodancer + touhou is great music rhythm bullet hell IS VERY HARD. I am being humbled by normal mode sob emoji (thank god for practice mode)

Incredibly fun rhythm action game that I've been obsessed with even though I suck at it :Neneko_Izumozaki: :Neneko_Izumozaki: I really reccommend this to anyone who likes Touhou, rhythm games, or just a challenge in general! Hop and hop and skip and hop (Music is also good).

Cute rythm game. Touhou characters and touhou music. Generally the touhou music is great. But i love the upbeat tone of the songs in this game! In particular i love the track "resonating wingbeats", a beautiful song. I recommend it mostly for the music.
