🧟 Zombie Shooter Zombie Shooter is an honest and very straightforward continuation of the same formula used in Alien Shooter, just with a different coat of paint. This time, instead of aliens, we get mutants and zombies. There’s nothing fundamentally new here: you run, shoot, move, and turn everything on screen into one big bloody stain. The DNA of the studio is fully intact — for better and for worse. Zombie models exist, but you rarely get a chance to really look at them, because the screen quickly turns into chaos. The game works as a short, mindless action experience for one or two evenings, depending on difficulty. There are a few new weapons designed specifically for zombies (like a circular saw), but overall the arsenal, mechanics, and pacing feel very familiar. Music and atmosphere are almost identical to Alien Shooter — same tone, same rhythm. There is no real story. No lore, no explanations, no characters — you are simply dropped into locations and told to kill everything, guided only by arrows. This lack of narrative makes the game feel shallow. I wouldn’t call it bad, but I also wouldn’t call it memorable. I played it, finished it, and moved on. ✅ Pros: ✔ Classic top-down arcade shooting — simple and effective ✔ Killing hordes of zombies is always somewhat satisfying ✔ Familiar mechanics for fans of Alien Shooter ✔ Short playtime — doesn’t overstay its welcome ✔ Some new weapons themed around zombies ❌ Cons: ➖ Almost no innovation compared to Alien Shooter ➖ Very weak (almost nonexistent) story and lore ➖ Repetitive locations (offices, labs, military bases, sewers) ➖ Bugs: getting stuck between objects, collision issues ➖ Screen resolution often needs manual fixing ➖ Enemy variety is limited ➖ Feels more like a standalone campaign or mod than a full new game 📝 Conclusion Zombie Shooter is not a bad game, but it is also not an evolution. It feels more like: Alien Shooter with zombies. If you enjoy mowing down endless hordes without thinking too much — it works. If you’re looking for something fresh, deeper, or more memorable — this isn’t it. For me, it was a short experience I’ll probably forget. Fun for a moment, but not iconic. ⭐ Rating: 6/10 Playable, familiar, but ultimately forgettable. 🎮 Fun Facts: • Zombie Shooter was developed by Sigma Team, the same studio behind Alien Shooter • The game uses almost the same engine and mechanics as Alien Shooter • Many fans consider it closer to a spin-off than a full sequel • Zombie Shooter later received a sequel that attempted to add more structure and content • Resolution and performance issues are common on modern systems without tweaks • Despite its simplicity, the game still has a small cult following among arcade shooter fans

Barebones but acceptable mindless shooter only playable with keyboard and mouse. Not a twin-stick shooter (implying gamepad) or a RPG despite being able to upgrade stats and weapons. Tons and tons of enemies so it can get tiresome as you stay in one place mowing them down, especially in the early levels. Later levels tend to overstay their welcome due to ridiculous numbers of foes and spawning. That being said, the very high number of enemies on screen at the same time is also one of the few game's strengths even though they can sometimes bug out and spin around or get stuck in obstacles. Nice weapon progression and none felt useless. There's no ending.

There was a time period in which indie games were kicking off for the very first time, that was in the early 2000's, particularly on platforms such as windows vista/7. Zombie shooter was not only a huge part of my childhood, but it's genuinely great for what it tries to be. Back when I had bought this, it wasn't on steam, I can't remember the platform I had gotten it from but when I played through it, it was one of the most fun experiences I've ever had, everything from the soundtrack to the gameplay, and what made it so great was the fact that it was unique in its own way, one of a kind. This and alien shooter are among the greatest top downs ever made, I know sigma team went down the gutter which is quite unfortunate, but things like this make me look back on a legendary era that gave birth to the PC indie genre.

Short review after finishing the game: A simple, short yet very fun isometric shooter great to play inbetwen larger titles like TES games or other long titles to relax a bit. Pros: - Dirt cheap in a bundle with other games, runs on a potato - World building...lore...Npc...NO all it has is zombies you shot em thats it...simple yet fun - Good amount of guns to choose and upgrade with some additional items - Fun and simple gameplay - Multiple game modes (campaign, survival, turret standoff) Cons: - Very short campaign (about 3 hours or so) - Low enemy variety (not many enemy classes) - Only 1 real boss - No melee weapons When the bundle is on sale buy it for dirt cheap, under 3 euros for 4 games. These games are great to relax after you finish longer games.
