enh. I know I bought it day 1 but for what they're charging this a very bare bones board game, not actually a "sequel" to plague inc. it literally feels like a card game you'd play with family to just pass a half hour.

After Inc: Revival challenges players to restart civilization decades after global collapse, blending strategy and city-building that hooks survival enthusiasts. Through settlement construction, budding leaders carve safe zones from overgrown highways, then venture into ruined malls with resource scavenging systems that force tense choices about risk, reward, and communal growth. Yet After Inc: Revival earns buzz for its simulation depth, not just apocalypse flair. Citizens demand healthcare, culture, and security, turning society shaping into a balancing act where every policy echoes through a persistent campaign that stores progress between runs, encouraging long-term planning, experimental colonies, and speed-building challenges among friends. After Inc: Revival positions its post-collapse sandbox between Frostpunk 2’s moral crunch and Against the Storm’s roguelite loops, but stakes its own identity through an early access roadmap that already delivered challenge scenarios, sharper survivor pathfinding, and an adjustable difficulty slider. By tying milestones to community polls, the developer keeps fresh mechanics flowing while giving settlement architects reasons to return, test new meta strategies, and share blueprints across social spaces. Core gameplay circles around balancing population happiness with resource extraction. Lumberyards feed sawmills, farms battle blight, and watchtowers repel roaming hordes triggered by dynamic events that escalate when morale dips. Detailed tooltips clarify production chains, letting first-timers grasp efficiency loops quickly, while veterans obsess over optimal build orders that squeeze surplus materials into research trees, unlocking advanced tech such as geothermal power or self-sufficient biodomes. Balancing accessible management loops with evolving depth, After Inc: Revival already offers an engrossing foundation that rewards both chilled base builders and efficiency chasers. The mix of demanding events, adjustable challenge modes, and long-form progression keeps colonies feeling meaningful even in early access. Anyone craving a fresh take on post-apocalyptic strategy should stake their claim now and watch this ambitious survival city-builder mature with each community-driven update. 8/10 DISASTER | BAD | MEDIOCRE | OKAY | GOOD | GREAT |AMAZING| MASTERPIECE Reviewed on: Win11 Home 64-bit, Intel i5-11600K, GeForce RTX 3060 Ti 8GB TUF, 32GB DDR4-3600 RAM, 2 x Kingston NV1 1TB M.2 NVMe SSD, Internet Broadband 1000/1000 Mbit If you like this review, then please consider giving it a thumbs up. An interesting successor to previous two games. Worth every minute spent, and good to both who played the series and those who have it as a first game Premise After the events of [url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/246620/Plague_Inc_Evolved/] Plague inc: Evolved , the Necroa virus (Zombies) destroyed the world. After many years in bunkers, you finally come out to the surface, in hopes to rebuild the society... Gameplay You play as the leader of the settlement. Your goal is to complete multiple tasks, to build a successful settlement. All that while you have to monitor multiple resources, such as water, food, wood, and etc. You'll also have to manage settler's morale, otherwise you'll lose authority and settlers will start to leave. Your main currency here is stamina, which you can use to buy and build upgrades Battle aganist the timer Authority is your timer until lose. It'll gradually decrease as settlers get impatient and if the moral hits low values. If the authority hits 0, you'll be banished from the settlement, or worse... Gameplay Variety Like in a previous game ([url=https://store.steampowered.com/app/1088790/Rebel_Inc_Escalation/]Rebel Inc: Escalation ), here you have a huge variety of options how to play the game: Want a simple game, or only starting? Pick Survivor, who is pretty universal Forget to increase capacity of overflowing resourses? Pick Hoarder, and they'll do the work for you Wanna focus on building structures, and have no time exploring? Not a problem to Cub-Scout Maybe you just want to declare a war to zombies? Well, choose Soldier and go smash those empty skulls Or you just want... Well, you got the point. Settlement's Aftermaths Yes, even after finishing the settlement it still impacts the game. Every time a new settlement is done, you unlock a new world feature, which will impact the next settlements. For example, you can get a card which will give you stamina every time tou finish a goal. Isn't it great? Difficulty Oh, boy, this time the devs didn't hold back... Instead of 4 diferrent difficulties being: [*]Casual: For those who are only starting, or just want a quick game [*]Normal: A middle of everything, kinda hard, but not really. Recommended for common playthrough [*]Brutal: Well, here goes the trouble. Your reputation is weak, and everyone want something from you. Recommended for those who want to try themselves, and those who knows other games from the series [*]Mega Brutal: "For those who thought Brutal was Casual" Yes, that's exact quote from the game. Here, you're either flawless, or prepare to lose in first minutes. Recommended for series' veterans, and for those who likes pain ...There's now 8 difficulties. Basically, first 3 are the same, BUT Mega Brutal now consists from 5 (!) different levels. Sounds fun, and trust me, it is Graphics Graphics here is a mix of paper-ish texture, the one that was in Rebel Inc and something new. It fits very well, and enriches the setting of the game Optimisation Despite having complex structure, After Inc is well optimised. I don't have a strong pc (It's a laptop, to be exact), and yet I can flawlessly play in 4k resolution, with V-sync on Overall enjoyment I enjoyed this game very well. As someone who completed all of Plague Inc and Rebel Inc (On Mega Brutal, mind me), I still found this game challanging, and very interesting to play in. I HIGHLY recommend the game, both for veterans, and those who discovered this game first 15/10, totally worth it. Just Remember: Nobody should know...

Yes I give this game a thumbs up but I’d also highly recommend you keep reading. Despite giving the game a thumbs up I worry it’s not currently worth it’s asking price and not worth your attention. So far the game has a great idea and for what’s there it’s all put together rather well. However it’s got very limited gameplay. It’s kinda rinse and repeat each mission with the only difference being the leader you pick for that particular mission. There’s no deviation, no choice, no nuance and honestly it’s lacking in a lot of ways. I know it’s early access but this is more of a concept and less of an actual game right now. They had a lot of opportunities and things they could have chosen to do or add or give us but they chose instead to play it safe. Do I think when this game is fully released it’ll be worth 20 bucks? Absolutely. There’s a lot going for this game right now and it looks to have a very promising future. But without an endless mode and limited to only 8 missions of gameplay time without change or deviation and I simply cannot recommend you buying it right now as right now it’s simply not worth it. They should have given more for the players to sink their teeth into if they wanted to secure their funding and they just didn’t. Add it to the wishlist though, it COULD become something amazing later on. But right now despite being well designed and put together it’s just too damn lackluster to be worth investing in right now. And I really hate to say it cuz I love these guys' games. But if you’d like a more in-depth look at the game I’d encourage you to check out the review on my YouTube Channel (link below) where I talk more about its good and its issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYg8d1KEC60 Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.

Think of it as if you had to combine Rebel Inc with a very basic City Builder while keeping the crisis management mechanics of previous titles made by ndemic. the game itself is polished and a sufficient minimum viable product, but needs to heavily rely on a giant bolster of custom content/ major official variations to the roguelite content. Naturally my expectations cannot be met yet, but i sincerely hope that After Inc will become at least as big as Rebel Inc within the next 2 years. I do NOT recommend anyone buying it yet because the price will fall by at least 30% within the next 4 months, at least on the 2nd party markets. Rebel Inc is 2,50 USD and a better game!
