Ndemic has a niche, and they are careful to stay in that niche with After Inc: Revival. The game is similar to Rebel Inc. except it focuses more on the colony building aspect as you survive various social and environmental events. It is set post Plague Inc. however is more like Rebel inc. The zombies are there, but they are more of a secondary antagonist to make it a bit harder to grow, and as such are less of a concern compared to the oncoming of winter each year. A common negative review is that it is repetitive, but that doesn't subtract from the point that it is designed to be a casual game where you build up the map with colonies. Any small research would know what type of game Ndemic makes, and this is no exception. It is a game originally designed for mobile, as was their previous games, and if you want to know if it is worth the money you can play the demo or the unpaid mobile version. The fact that some people negatively reviewed it without viewing the mobile game before purchasing it is more a poor reflection on them than the game.... go try the demo or the mobile version first. personally I enjoy it, and likely will play it like I play their other games, intermittently to break up monotony from other things in my life. it is not a hard core game, it is just a relaxing colony builder.

If you played uhhhh, Rebel-Inc? Yeah this is just rebel inc but with zombies. If you liked what was going on with rebel-inc, you'll like this too. If you didn't, then you won't. It reminds me of an ancient flash game called rebuild. It's not terribly complex but there's a pretty solid strategy element that emerges from that simplicity. It's not a trivial task either, the game can be quite challenging. Overall the presentation is nice and I enjoy it.

I find this game good, HOWEVER: Remove the mobile Energy feature. I paid for a premium game (Full price non-mobile) so I expect one without daily energy mechanics. If the daily run is the only energy-refilling feature, then fine. BUT I expect endless PC-Replayability. Not only the campaign. I want to play in the weekend for multiple hours when I have the time. I want to have the rewards to be available for me to EARN through playing WITHOUT the DAILY RUN being the ONLY OPTION. The music is good, the premise and the lore/secret thingies is also good. I love the game, only feedback/critique is above.

Yes I give this game a thumbs up but I’d also highly recommend you keep reading. Despite giving the game a thumbs up I worry it’s not currently worth it’s asking price and not worth your attention. So far the game has a great idea and for what’s there it’s all put together rather well. However it’s got very limited gameplay. It’s kinda rinse and repeat each mission with the only difference being the leader you pick for that particular mission. There’s no deviation, no choice, no nuance and honestly it’s lacking in a lot of ways. I know it’s early access but this is more of a concept and less of an actual game right now. They had a lot of opportunities and things they could have chosen to do or add or give us but they chose instead to play it safe. Do I think when this game is fully released it’ll be worth 20 bucks? Absolutely. There’s a lot going for this game right now and it looks to have a very promising future. But without an endless mode and limited to only 8 missions of gameplay time without change or deviation and I simply cannot recommend you buying it right now as right now it’s simply not worth it. They should have given more for the players to sink their teeth into if they wanted to secure their funding and they just didn’t. Add it to the wishlist though, it COULD become something amazing later on. But right now despite being well designed and put together it’s just too damn lackluster to be worth investing in right now. And I really hate to say it cuz I love these guys' games. But if you’d like a more in-depth look at the game I’d encourage you to check out the review on my YouTube Channel (link below) where I talk more about its good and its issues. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WYg8d1KEC60 Otherwise, thanks so much for reading and I hope I managed to help some of you out there spend your money wisely.

Think of it as if you had to combine Rebel Inc with a very basic City Builder while keeping the crisis management mechanics of previous titles made by ndemic. the game itself is polished and a sufficient minimum viable product, but needs to heavily rely on a giant bolster of custom content/ major official variations to the roguelite content. Naturally my expectations cannot be met yet, but i sincerely hope that After Inc will become at least as big as Rebel Inc within the next 2 years. I do NOT recommend anyone buying it yet because the price will fall by at least 30% within the next 4 months, at least on the 2nd party markets. Rebel Inc is 2,50 USD and a better game!
