This was the first game i played from the developer, so this review is unbiased unlike all these other reviews tryin to base it off what the developer has made previously. I played this game through multiple times and had fun every time, im not a single player type of guy but this game was able to pull me in and keep my attention all the way through. the art style is amazing, acting is great, story is also great and funny. ignore these critical reviews because chances are you will enjoy this game.

Coming from Oxenfree this was a bit of a disappointment, as someone who loves this genre and other dialogue heavy games, I was beyond excited for this release. Right from the main menu, I was hooked the art style, the sound design, everything felt spot on. The intro did a great job setting the mood and showing the game’s potential, introducing some well voiced characters and simple but interesting mechanics. Unfortunately, the deeper you get, the more you start to realize how shallow it really is. The atmosphere stops pulling you in, the dialogue becomes predictable and awkwardly timed, and the world starts losing any sense of cohesion or intrigue. A lot of the humour just doesn’t land, and the game relies on cheap tricks to keep you engaged but they mostly fall flat. The biggest issue for me is the quest design. It honestly feels like MMO filler, “Go to the forest and fetch three mushrooms so the orc can cook dinner.” It all comes off as padding to stretch out the runtime rather than meaningful content. Most side characters lose all logic halfway through, and the so called “challenges” are barely challenges at all. The illusion of choice is everywhere your decisions rarely matter. The ending seals the disappointment. It’s predictable, cliché, and unsatisfying. The supposed twists are weak, and everything you did along the way ends up feeling meaningless. I even ran into bugs like repeated lines of dialogue and quests you could retry infinitely with no consequence for failing. That said, Milo and Lola’s voice acting and character design are excellent and honestly carry the entire experience.

A dialog-rich, clicky game with fun and witty conversations. Pros: The characters are lively and amusing, and the humor often hits in the right way. There are some slightly annoying outcomes to certain choices but not in a bad-game kind of way, its more like “oh come on, I should’ve seen that coming.” Once you get used to how the characters behave and how choices are handled, it almost feels like you’re trying to outsmart the writers, which adds a fun little edge to it. Cons: Some scenes and conversations can feel repetitive at times, and there were moments I wished I could speed things up a bit, like watching a video at 1.5x. The overall feeling is a bit like playing through a few interactive episodes of a show rather than a game, but that’s also what it aims for. It could have been shorter, and it would have been nice to have an easier way to replay different scenarios or dialogue paths. Personally, I felt too lazy to replay just to see the possible outcomes (feeling lazy to play the game, imagine that), but you probably get what I mean. Something like the decision tree between chapters in Detroit: Become Human could also make things more interesting, to see whether the choices really mattered or if the outcome would have been the same anyway, save for the obvious changes. Overall, it’s a decent time-pass, would’t call it hilarious all the way through, but entertaining enough to go on with it till the end. Just maybe not in one go.

Beautiful and thought provoking. I'd describe it as a 2,5D walking simulator with puzzles in form of dialogs that shape your unique playthrough. The characters are amazingly written and voice acting only boosts them further. That and amazing art style makes this an amazing experience.

This was the first Night School game I ever played. I fell in love with this genre of games after playing it. I loved the story of the world these two kids "live" in. Voice acting was top notch. Ashly Burch was amazing as always. For those that like a fun story with a little bit of heart, I totally recommend!!
