Lukasz, this game is really good, you did a great job. I know it's constantly being updated and it just came out, but please fix this. When I'm playing and the power goes out, my saved game gets corrupted and glitches with no apparent fix. This is really bad because I live in Venezuela and power outages are very common here. This didn't happen in the first Age of History II, but it does in the Definitive Edition.

Okay so now that I’ve had some more time with the game I can say this much, This isn't a Definitive Edition, This is at most is a Age of History 3 DLC. I wanna start off with the history of this series, AoH or AOC depending how long you've known Łukasz’s games for was a massive promise to otherwise saturated market for strategy games, Where other games will complicate things and make it impossible to dig deep into the game, AoH made it fun and simple towards people who didn't really want to get into the nitty gritty of every single aspect of games like HOI or Sid Civ series of games. The first game let a lot to be desired and fans wanted more so Łukasz delivered with a more robust system that didn't feel disconnected from the first title and even got the game from mobile to Steam, AoH 2 came out in 2018 and was given steady updates from 2018 until 2020, with most of those being patches and bug fixes, here is where the problems come in, the game was mostly considered abandoned and Łukasz gave no updates to his channel on youtube, steam or even his own personal blog for 4 years until 2024 where he announced the third installment to this series, AoH 3, which while different, wasn't too bad and I personally held some hope in the future for more updates, DLC and even possibly more content but unfortunately even with announcements like the never released Multiplayer DLC and stability updates, AoH3 fell down the totem pole for those reasons. On top of that the icing on the cake was that there was a new title coming out for this year, AoH2:DE, which is supposed to be a definitive way to play AoH2. But it just feels like a combination of AoH2 and AoH3 with more bugs and glitches. Łukasz is happy to add things to steam’s workshop for AoH3 and AoH2:DE but these should be added into the base game as options, not as mods for the game. On top of everything, from what I’ve seen from people on Steam and Reddit is that Łukasz controls his forums as if he's a massive dictator, deleting reviews from people complaining about the things that I mentioned above. Like I said with my original review, I do still recommend this game. Is it glitchy? Sure. Does it bug out? Sometimes. Does it crash? In my 12 hrs of gameplay it crashed once. Is it fun? Yea, addictive at times? Does it warrant the $9.99 price tag? No, None of these titles do, Not AoH2, AoH3, or AoH2:DE. It's a really good title to pick up when it's on sale. That's about it. Oh and Łukasz, finish AoH3, me and one of my friends have been waiting since the announcement of the multiplayer DLC and it has not come out since. Don't fall into the trap that so many other game studios do and make a game borderline playable only for it to get better over time, If you're planning on making a AoH4 or AoH3:DE, dont, finish the games you have out now and then start working on AoH4. We wouldn't need a “Definitive Edition” if the game was finished and polished to all hell.

Mean people could say that AOH2 is basically a “number goes up” game with a world map and the feeling that you are doing something with history. And honestly, they would not be completely wrong. You click through provinces, move borders, start wars because someone lives next to you, and suddenly you ask yourself why Baden-Württemberg is becoming a superpower. Again. Is it very deep historical? Not really. You learn some things, but mostly on a high level: countries exist, empires fall apart, neighbours are annoying, economy matters, war is expensive. Compared to the old non-Definitive version, it is a clear upgrade. Bigger map, more provinces, more scenarios, more diplomacy, better UI and better performance. Not a revolution, but the old sandbox got better toys. And yes, it is fun. A bit too fun. The map is never clean enough, one more province is always needed, and suddenly it is 2 AM and Austria-Hungary is back for no good reason. Not a masterpiece. More like historical time wasting with a world map addiction loop. Recommended. I like it more than I probably should.

I loved AoH2 but hated AoH3. This game feels like a perfect mix of the 2. the only thing I wish they would add is the ability to make subdivisions in your country
