Absolutely fantastic. Beautiful graphics, funny moments with units flying everywhere when hit, awesome god powers, glorious titans. No, it's not just nostalgia, this game really was so good and still is. The campaign is still one of the best ones out there.

Take what Age of Mythology has from the original, improve it vastly across the board and easily provide what every AoM player since release day has been screaming for. The end result is a God-Tier product, pun intended. Give it a buy, it's well worth the money.

This game should be considered as a golden standard for what remasters should be. Not only the graphics have been completely overhauled but the gameplay mechanics have been tweaked to allow gameplay that wasnt possible on older hardware. Population cap is now much higher and you can use powers nore frequently which allows for some crazy battles. The AI pathing is better, the game is well optimized so it runs smooth even at the highest settings on older rigs. I could not recommend this more.

Polished graphics and animations for a new generation, with all the spectacle-filled army vs army battles that made me love the original Age of Mythology and Warcraft 3. I also love the little tweaks to the God powers mechanics, letting you reuse them in exchange for Favor. That's a small but really nice touch. It's just a damn shame I still suck at RTS games lol. The tagline for this review is "If you liked the original, but wanted it shinier and less buggy, you'll like this." The one criticism I have is that the campaign's voice acting isn't nearly as good as the original. It's not the voices themselves, but the fact every character speaks in a way that makes you wonder if the first time the voice actors read the script was while they were doing the final recordings. The emphasis on words in their dialogue is really off, and lacks the same enthusiasm as the OG AoM. It's like the voice actors are simultaneously trying too hard and not hard enough. And the main villains' voices went from deep and threatening to generically monstrous. But this is but a single fly buzzing around my gaming soup. Everything else is perfectly fine. Retold is for Age of Mythology what Blizzard promised Reforged would be for Warcraft 3 minus the blatant lies, misleading cinematic trailers, and the ridiculous sixty dollar cost.
