This is along with the XXl 1 and the Olympic Games the second of the Asterix Trilogy, not counting the XXL3 that came out way later. It's a tribute to gaming with it's countless referenences to classic games, and it's beautiful design. Truly a hidden gem game. It needs more love from the gaming community. It's very obvious that the creators loved what they were creating, just like with the other 2 games I mentioned.

If you like beat em-up games with a bit of story and some collectibles it is a good game, it is an older game but for a remaster it isn't too bad.

This game very well catches the comic in its mechanics of fighting Romans and send them flying. There is a bit of progression in terms of fighting movements but not that much to keep the fights from getting repetitive very soon. And apart from this you mainly look for the next button to open the next door. That said the game enterains well in small doses and the different levels as well as the many pop culture references made it worthwhile for me to finish the game.
