As a fighter game is pretty cool. Story mode is just bland with a lot of dialog.

You got high tier of large contents of Visual Novel fully voice over Plus a fighting game. The bad thing is they use some kind of anti debugger running that's cause frame rate drop.

BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend, developed by Arc System Works and published by H2 Interactive Co., Ltd., is an expanded and refined entry in the acclaimed 2D fighting game series. Released on Steam in late 2014, this version builds upon the mechanics and content of BlazBlue: Continuum Shift, offering players a more complete and polished experience. With its blend of fast-paced combat, detailed anime-style visuals, and a deep narrative, the game stands out as one of the premier fighting titles for both casual players and competitive enthusiasts. One of the game’s strongest features is its diverse roster. Continuum Shift Extend introduces new characters alongside returning favorites, each equipped with unique abilities, combos, and playstyles. This variety ensures that players can experiment with different characters to find one that suits their preferred approach to combat. Character designs remain highly stylized, vibrant, and true to the anime aesthetic, with fluid animations that convey impact and personality during every move. Complementing the roster, the stages are intricately designed and full of life, providing visually striking arenas that enhance the overall atmosphere of the battles. The combat system strikes a careful balance between accessibility and depth. Newcomers benefit from options like the “Stylish Mode,” which simplifies inputs and allows for visually impressive combos without demanding advanced execution. More experienced players, however, can dive into “Technical Mode,” which rewards precise timing, advanced strategies, and mastery of each character’s nuances. This dual approach makes the game welcoming to a wide audience while still offering meaningful challenges for those seeking competitive play. The combo system, special attacks, and defensive mechanics all contribute to a dynamic and engaging fighting experience. Continuum Shift Extend also excels in its single-player content. The story mode is expansive, continuing the saga of the BlazBlue universe with richly developed characters and a complex, interwoven narrative. Fully voiced dialogues, animated cutscenes, and cinematic presentation immerse players in the unfolding drama, making the story a compelling reason to explore the game beyond multiplayer matches. The narrative depth, rare for a fighting game, adds substantial replay value as players may wish to experience each character’s perspective to uncover the full plot. Online multiplayer features are robust, offering ranked matches, player lobbies, and spectator modes that foster a competitive community. Matches are generally smooth thanks to stable netcode, allowing precise inputs and fast reactions to matter, which is essential for a fighting game where timing and execution are critical. The online component enhances the game’s longevity, giving players reasons to continually refine their skills and engage with others. Despite its strengths, the game has minor shortcomings. Some players have encountered occasional input lag or minor frame inconsistencies, which can impact execution during high-level play. Additionally, the learning curve may feel steep for newcomers who wish to master multiple characters or advanced mechanics. Nevertheless, these issues are relatively minor compared to the overall depth and polish of the game. In summary, BlazBlue: Continuum Shift Extend is a feature-rich and visually striking fighting game that caters to both casual players and dedicated enthusiasts. Its diverse roster, intricate combat system, compelling story mode, and strong online support combine to create a well-rounded experience that remains engaging even years after its release. While technical quirks and the complexity of mechanics may present challenges, the game’s vibrant presentation, dynamic battles, and rich narrative make it a standout title in the 2D fighting genre. Played this game originally on my 3DS waaaaaay back in my teens. I never really got to beating all of the games, so picked up the collection on on a sale here a while back and have been working my way through them on and off. Just finished Continuum Shift. I prefer this one over the first one by far. It feels way more polished, and better to control. Arcade Mode was a fun time. I finished it with all the characters, as well as story mode. Both are worth playing. I dabbled in Abyss, but it's not really my thing so I only cleared as far as depth 100. I will say, having seeing many people online say the storyline is Kingdom Hearts levels of confusing in the past, I don't really agree, at least up to this entry. Maybe that changes in the third and fourth. Yes, timelines and such are involved, but it's all rather easy to follow, at least up through Continuum Shift. I had no issues following the plot at all, and enjoyed it.
