Beautiful @SoaringPixelsGames, this game is an absolute gem its appealing to the eye, its got a good building system, the enemies are actually difficult to fight if your not prepared, if you go in with just some canon balls expect to get wiped clean out Lol the story is lacking in my opinion but that's probably because i was so caught up in exploring and building....and The water physics.... absolutely mind blowing things you can do with the water in this game its fun to mess around with its even better that you can just create a hole in the water and catch fish that way LOL. i never write reviews but im patiently waiting for a major update on the game, already finished the story and killed the serpent and it was a blast one of the best 13 hours ive played on a game for sure. Again @SoaringPixelsGames what a piece of art you got here BEAUTIFUL!!

This game is great. If exploration and sailing around with some Valheim building is enough for you than you are in the right place. But i'm not going to butter this up, it's not quite finished. I've already pretty much done a majority of what there is to do on my own, my next step is probably to enjoy some time with friends on here. DO: Wishlist the game. It's going to be a banger. Expect it to be early access and there for some bugs. Expect to be sailing around a lot and even gliding! Appreciate the insane water physics. The best of any game i've ever played. Understand that updates will be slower than your typical big studio. Don't: Expect a ton of ship options right now. Expect land combat to be riveting and full of skillful dodges. Buy if you don't like games that aren't feature complete. Expect an AAA title. The game is a 7/10 right now but you can see what it will become and it's easily going to hit the 9s or 10/10s. The water physics are nuts, boating with a friend is a blast, progression feels really solid and i am having a really peaceful time with the game.

Its a really interesting game, the water physics are fun and interesting to play around with. However I have no idea what this game is doing to my GPU. The GPU load is about 40-50 (Which is fair), but the temp skyrockets above 60 degrees in less than 20 minutes, not to mention the GPU load goes to 100% sometimes when the game is on the pause screen. This isnt anything dangerous, just odd, since a lot of other games dont give my RTX 3080 any issues like this. But again, its not anything dangerous so it doesnt stop me from playing the game, it just mystifies me.

Its not a bad concept but it could use a good kick in the ass. If you're in a hurry: All in all, the game is fun and has potential to be one of the greats, but it needs some serious QA work to be done. Wait for a sale. Read on if you want details: My two biggest gripes: 1. Would be the horrendous player characters (now several years old). 2. the very strange choice to not include any underwater mechanics/gameplay in a game centered around the ocean, featuring fantastic and gorgeous liquid system with great caustics physics (it look amazing) but clearly no underwater shaders were implimented with it.. which is strange.. because when you're playing, it really feels like there should be. Its often a smart choice to save time and resources by not including underwater/diving in games and just have a basic surface material with a swimming animation {think of GTA IV or Vahiem)... Thats not such a good choice when water is the primary focus that your whole concept revolves around. Its an odd choice that has me scratching my head at times, especially with the inclusion of a submarine you functionally cant see (since not even the camera can go underwater) yet are FORCED to watch when attempting the fast travel/free travel? A normal boat would give us more to look at and seem much less strange. The main tech feature kinda mostly has you getting rid of water.. which is unique and super cool but I don't know if that should be the only feature here, there's a lot of room to build upon that, even if you don't want to include some form of basic 'no-clip' diving like a lot of other openworld survival crafts. On that note.. The 'survival gameplay' was passable for a few years ago, but other survival crafts have come along with far better realized games and more basic polish, within a similar development lifetime and similar team size. One boat model, 2 creepy looking character models, odd looking accessories that don't quite attach to your character properly, player camera that sits about 1m too high with no settings to change it (for the life of me I do not know how you would miss that if you play your own game for more than 1 hour).. and at the same time, this gorgeous ocean with stunning looking titans roaming the horizon and occasionally dangerously close to your proximity, actively affecting the water levels and environment around you, someone clearly knows what they're doing. Its an absolute spectacle. Its giving "mixed signals". At times the game can be stunning and it seems like there's a real 'vision' behind it, but then other times I'm wondering why the building assets clash so much with the environment, and why there's no auto pick-up functionality for harvested resources (you gotta press e for EVERY item dropped by a node) and no hot key to "take all" from dropped bags. Every player action is sped-up super fast like someone using UE5 for the first time and cutting the animation too short, which doesn't make sense because the developers are clearly pretty sophisticated, which is baffling when they miss obvious stuff like the awful combat. All in all, the game is fun and has potential to be one of the greats, but its currently still just a neat tech demo with a very amateur survival craft taped it to (though not a particularly bad one, to be fair, just unpolished). With limited assets and a pretty horrendous character creator, there's not much to latch onto or get invested in. I'd say wait for a sale, but it is worth a try.

Plenty of content for the price. Not really sure if there is an end goal, but there is plenty to do. Everyone giving bad reviews don't enjoy the little things and are too worried about completing the game. How about just survive and enjoy the process
