Game is currently in active re-development with a lot of improvements and changes from the first iteration. It's exciting to watch this game grow and the devs are constantly updating the new version. The old version is still playable, but it's slowly becoming obsolete with every new update.
I saw a video of this game and thought it was amazing although I'm not a big RTS guy. Read some of the reviews and the one from Danger Desperado specifically kind of put me off a bit. Went into the forums and talked with the dev and ended up buying it to try with a buddy. Happy to say it has so many customizable options that you can play it how you want. It definitely didn't feel like any other RTS I've played and was a very unique spin from a sort of city manager mixed with troop management and then the attacking. It was pleasantly really well done and smooth. Experienced no crashes or bugs and basically if you want to spend a few hours playing with a friend or a few just clearing out a city of zombies this is a very fun original RTS take. Definitely will be playing again with the sliders adjusted and some of the other maps (we played on the older first map).
I have two major issues with the game right now, which I hope are prioritized and handled! One: friendly unit pathing incredibly dumb, especially for friendly vehicles. Units frequently fail to path around basic obstacles, stopping all momentum seemingly at random and calculating inefficient, often hazardous routes. A frequent issue I'll have is ordering a unit to move backwards, only for this unit to stop for an unnecessary amount of time or take weird, unintuitive routes. Like, they'll be at position A, and I'll want them to move to position B on an unimpeded road or open area, and instead of a straight line.. They'll spin, do zigzags, even move in the opposite direction at random. This inconsistency in movement makes essentially impossible with vehicles; it's a HUGE issue. Two: units don't engage. I don't know what is going on, but some units will be in range, with open sightlines, even facing at a potential enemy with their main cannon or turret.. But WON'T fire. I have NO idea what causes this, but there are random times when friendly vehicles especially will not engage enemies unless very specifically positioned. This seems especially true for enemy structures.
For all the negative votes, you didn't read the important pop up note on the right side of the main menu stating to play the 'Legacy Version' if you want to "grasp the direction the game is heading". The version that is uploaded right of the bat is the new game being built from the ground up, so No, Not everything that shown in the trailer is uploaded yet, they are working on civilians next, but there is still a lot more to go. Like adding the Aircraft Carrier functionality and much much more. This Game Gets 2 Massive Thumbs UP from my vote, cannot wait to see what the Full Release looks like. EDIT: Dear God There is An Hovercraft on the Aircraft Carrier. It Fits 59 troops for a land assault on the island. DO YOURSELF THE FAVOR AND TRY 'LEGACY'. sure its a bit buggy, but holy hell the potential is beautiful for the New Version
this is one of the best RTS games ive played in a long time even though there are some sad bugs such as units refusing to shoot and enemy ai getting glitched attacking nothing the game is hella fun to play with friends or online with randoms its very worth it i also like how if a save corrupts if you send them it they will try there best to fix it if you did not mess with the settings to much the only sad thing is multiplayer you have to share units but being able to see whos moving what via logs can allow kicking and banning those who are trolling so it evens out you can also change how the infections work such as making the gas towers not appear and other things you could recreate the walking dead if you wanted to this game is only held back by the bugs a bit and the kinda slow development process but its still a very fun game
