The game is one hell of a ride, the story is well written, and the ending was very satisfying. The character feel very fleshed out and the world does feel lived in. If you are into the detective stories this is a must pick up, the game captures a lot of elements of old detective movies which I grew up watching, so it did feel a bit like a nostalgia trip for me. This is just a great introduction into the franchise, if you ever wanted to dig deep into a world, this one feels like a good start. Once you delve in their games, you just realise how much time the devs have put in creating this world. The game was made with a lot of love and passion, and I really cannot recommend enough if you like this genre. It has quickly become one my personal favourites.

I bought this on sale because "haha chicken police :) funi :)" but it's actually really good. Clever writing, fully voiced (and voiced well!), and absolutely nails the detective noir atmosphere. I've only played for 3 hours and haven't completed the first chapter, but feel like recommending it already. Also, GREAT jazz soundtrack.

I'm not sure what I expected with this game but it wasn't that and I was hooked pretty early on. The art style intrigued me but I'm not a fan of detective games or visual novel style narrative, Surprisingly this visual novel style detective game became my weekend obsession. The characters are charming and voiced well, you really do feel like they all have their own caricature personalities and it works well for them as you begin to feel connected. The banter and humour is actually pretty good, I spent most of my playthrough smirking and actually heavily exhaled a lot and laughed more than once. The story is good if nothing special but it's the undertones that make the story memorable, the deep lore, how would racisim look in a world where chickens and tigers live in the same city as dogs and cats. If you're interested go for it, the demo should tell you whether or not this is the game for you and I would suggest trying it even if you're completely unsure. I was.

Damn, what a great game. I was actually about to stop playing immediately after starting, due to some odd pacing with the dialogue I was attributing to bugs, but I am so glad I didn't. This universe that The Wild Gentlemen have built is incredibly interesting, and I hope that the studio will let us spend even more time here, not just with the Chicken Police in Clawville, but everywhere else! Maybe in different game genres altogether! Truly, there is so much potential. Chicken Police - Paint it RED! was an immensely fun first look into this universe, that did a really good job of explaining the world as I explored all the scenes, drawing connections to past events like wars, epidemics and the colonization of the World of Wilderness, while also telling a truly engaging noir mystery story filled with great, atmospheric music, memorable characters, and many *gasp*-worthy moments!

I came into this game just thinking that it had a cool artstyle after playing the demo. I was blown away. What an adventure this was. It nailed what it wanted to do, and that is to be an interactive detective noire movie. The writing, voice acting and pacing is perfect. What an amazing way to use the visual novel genre to build something unique. Best game to play close to New Year's Eve.
