Brilliant game, one of my all time favourites. However, it does have a tendency to crash suddenly and without warning which will corrupt your save file and force you to restart a scenario. If this wasn't the case, it would be in my top 5 all time games. It doesn't stop it from being an absolute gem of a game though!

This game was my childhood, along with the wacky mobile port they made and released as "Transport Tycoon". Like the games prior, it really was coded in assembly, which makes it run fast but it's incredibly unstable on even relatively new machines. An open-source remake exists, called OpenLoco, which like OpenTTD runs much better but it's still a WIP so you need to buy this game for it to work.

Still super fun 20 years later. Save often though, it's a bit unstable. there's a bunch of GP30 mods for it so I kinda have to rate it highly anyway.

It was supposed to be an improvement over Transport Tycoon Deluxe but it came out way too late for what it brought to be a success, and as of today there is Open TTD out there so the only reason to play this is for nostalgic purposes or personal research to see how it was.
