Assume that the other chapters will never release. This is still 100% worth it on its own. The topics this covers is more relevant today than ever before, with recent world events near paralleling the stories of this VN, it's like a prediction. No, a prediction merely anticipates the future. A prophecy... is a PROMISE. Of our future. God Promises us the Meat Factory. One might even say, it is Spoken in Red.

Having finished this, even without news of Phase 2 coming any time soon, I can fully recommend this as its own thing. From having characters turn directly to the camera and speaking the effects of the older generation on the younger one to discussions of the nuance in the difference between gender and sex, to having a fun Christmas carol ending scene, it's got what you're looking for. Maybe. Give it a shot!

It's so fucking good and has the potential to be the best WTC so far (Hell I already like phase 1 more than Higurashi and Umineko's first chapter/episode), but I genuinely believe we won't be getting the next phase for a long time, if at all. I would still recommend checking this out since this is far and ahead some of Ryukishi's best writing and also his best paced story yet (Which is a HUGE deal if you've read his stories before lmao). It's just such a shame that there's a really good chance this story never gets continued, we can only hope and believe in a miracle.

The ending is genuinely sublime and might be the best thing that Ryukishi07 has written. It's worth the price of admission for that alone, but Ciconia no Naku Koro Ni is genuinely excellent all the way through.
