(Leaving this as a positive review only because I KNOW a ton of work has went into this game as it is.) First thing a $25 price tag is insane for what this game is, granted I have just barely put 3 hours into it... The controls are just strange for one thing. Another thing is the weird settings they have set up, I am not sure if some of them even do anything at all. The tessellation is really off and imo doesn't fit in this game at all, seems like it's there to just add detail to the grass blocks thankfully you can get rid rid of it. The grass blocks themselves could really do with some kind of separation in the texture because the constant green just gives you eye strain and headaches after a short time. Once you start building things it breaks that up a little but 90% of what you look at away from your buildings is just an endless sea of green. It is a fun game once you start figuring things out.. that is where the tutorial completely fails, some parts of it actually has controller buttons set up so you are left to figure out what key to use and if you happen to be on a controller then good luck to you. I can't say too much on the end of localization but if the tutorial is in this shape, I can only imagine playing this game outside of English is a nightmare. There really is not much as a player to do it seems like and at a point I think it just turns into a idle game. At the start yes, you have to do a few things to get started, punch some trees then puch some rocks and craft some basic blocks with a windmill???... but simple things like crafting stairs and such is left up to your npc's.. so you have to wait for all of your building blocks to be crafted for you, then I guess all you really do is build things and manage your npc's. As I said I know a ton of work has went into this game as it stands... but even at 50% off - $12 feels a bit high for this game. This feels a lot like the games we used to buy on the Xbox360 for $1. I want to put more time into it and explore all it has but I just can't play it for more than 30-40 minutes at a time cause of the eye strain... This game really needs a update to the graphical side of things... even if it's just darkening the grass textures or adding some variations. I can do with janky controls and terrible tutorials and all the other things but I don't want to suffer through the headaches and go blind.

watched multiple youtubers play his game at around 2017-2018, I loved watching them play the game, and it was so addicting to watch them as a kid, and watching them grow massive kingdoms filled with thousands of sla- fair workers. also seeing thousands of zombies... after a while I forgot about the game, until a year ago, I remember about it, but at that time I didn't have a PC... until now... GREAT game if you like a simple lay back game about making people do jobs with their only payment being a bowl of berries, or if you felling fancy, some bread. 10/10 (the youtuber I watched was lazar beam, and some others I forgot.)

Easily one of my favorite games. I've been playing it for years. The development team is not above redoing entire sections of the game to make it better and better. The pair of them work hard and it shows. They care a lot about the game, and it is a labor of love. The game has come a long way since I first started playing it. Some major good improvements, some bad improvements that get revised and fixed. The game in its current state at the end of 2025 is a complete game, but the developers have plans for so much more. The game is fun and challenging, while not being overly complicated. There are some places that need little more attention, but overall it is a pretty good game and I have a couple thousand hours in it. It is often compared to Minecraft, but it has some significant differences. The biggest difference is Minecraft is about you, this is about your Colonists. You build defenses for them. They do most of the crafting, most of the guarding, etc. You don't go into a mine to gather resources, the Colonists do. You don't refine ore into metal, the colonists do that for you. Your task is to design and build. You build castles and houses, or whatever it is your heart desires.
