I absolutely love Console Shop Simulator. The management system is genuinely deep, there’s a lot of thought behind it, and aesthetically the game works really well, even if the art style isn’t necessarily my personal favorite. BUT… the economy feels seriously unbalanced, especially at the beginning. The license prices are insanely expensive and completely crush your progression early on. New releases come so quickly that it starts feeling less like a shop simulator and more like a checklist with deadlines every 2–3 days. 😭 A new game comes out → you need the license → you spend a huge amount of money → you enjoy the new game for 24–48 hours → you finally start recovering financially → another release comes out → customers lose interest in the previous game → and you’re back to square one. Please space the releases out even more! 😂 And the bank loan system… 40% interest?! Absolutely terrifying. I think I may have actually bankrupted my shop trying to keep up. 😭 The second-hand system is also way too opaque for me. I genuinely don’t understand how the trade-in system works. A customer can walk in with one used game and ask for €700 for it, which makes absolutely no sense to me. The pricing in general also feels very strange sometimes — €900 for a PS4? €1,000 for a 2DS XL? 😭 So basically: I LOVE the actual game and its management systems. I just think the early-game economy, license prices, release frequency, second-hand/trade-in mechanics and pricing balance need some serious tweaking. There’s a really excellent game underneath all of this. I just want to be able to enjoy running my shop instead of constantly feeling like I’m fighting bankruptcy. 😂🎮
I recently seen that the reviews for this game have dipped into mixed so I decided to add my own opinion. This game is great and you will get a lot of hours out of it. I know some people have a problem with slow progression, but I didn't have any problems. I might have had moments of being almost broke, but that was mainly due to over stocking. The game does have small updates , however, they are frequent enough to know that the dev is still working on the game. Lastly there was a horrible bug that I hated enough to comment on the forms; not only did the dev respond to my message, but the bug was also addressed in the next update that was released. That is a win in my book, because I LOVED the game beforehand. Overall 100% recommend if you enjoy simulator games!
Console Shop Simulator Value for Money: ❤❤❤❤♡ Enjoyment:❤❤❤❤♡ Dev Support: ❤❤❤❤♡ Bugs:❤♡♡♡♡ The hardest part about Console Shop Simulator isn't the management it's learning how to say "no" to second hand deals before my shop becomes a hoarding simulation and I'm buried under a mountain of trade ins. If you want to run a real gaming empire, this game lets you do it all. You can buy first hand stock or hunt for second hand deals, micro manage every single price tag, and then "sell big or go home" to maximize your profits. Throw in the ability to live stream your shop to the world, and you’ve got a fun, high energy way to turn a small storefront into a legendary business Gameplay: The loop here is great. You aren’t just stocking shelves; you’re actually repairing consoles and CDs, which adds a nice layer of hands on work. You get to negotiate profits, set your own prices, and even live stream your shop to get more customers through the door. Balancing the inventory of second hand mods and new consoles keeps the "management" side of your brain busy without being stressful. Graphics: Much like other titles in this genre, it’s not going to win "Best Visuals of 2026," but it honestly doesn't need to. The consoles and games are recognizable and look good on the shelves. For the price tag, the graphics are more than fair and do a great job of creating that "local game store" atmosphere. Bugs: So far, I have not met any big types of bugs everything is going very smoothly for me. Occasionally, when the developers introduce new features, there might be some starter bugs, but they are always fixed quickly. It’s clear the team is on top of things. Player-Friendly: Very easy to pick up. The UI is clean, and the game doesn't rush you. You can build your empire at your own speed, which makes it a perfect game to chill with after work. Quality of Life Changes: Honestly, I don't have anything to add here. I enjoy the game just as it is right now and I'm not sure what I would even change to improve the experience for me. Overall Verdict: If you like management games and have a soft spot for gaming history, this is a must buy. Edited after feedback and fixes from dev. Still in early access, but there is a lot to like here. It starts a bit slow and money starved but opens up fairly quickly once you get a few new releases. Once it gets going its fun to keep everything stocked while handling trade-ins and repairs. It has a solid game play loop that keeps you playing. My original review mentioned a number of bugs and crashes but the dev was extremely responsive got potential fixes added the same day. I know its an early access game but its great to see someone who very clearly loves this project and puts in extra effort to listen to players. Happy to keep supporting this effort.
Seems good so far, despite some generic looking graphics/art design. The gameplay is fun and I love that there are so many user made mods for the game, people have done up a ton of the old school games and put them in this game with covers,etc.. I look forward to seeing what more gets added to this game. Will add to this review when I play more, but so far I am happy with my purchase and will play more in the future no doubt.
