To avoid GAME CRASH set "Model / Texture detail" in "Options" - "Video" to "High" ("Medium" for 100% fix). Don't set "Shader detail" lower than "High" or you will not see Gore System. Don't play in "Full screen" mode because ALT-TABing and different software overlays and notifications will produce lags, visual glitches, game crash. Some Workshop items can make game start slow or not start, lag, crash.

My friend and I nabbed this game on the 2024 Christmas sale... Purely on the basis that it looked interesting. Turned out to be one of the most enthralling and addicting Zombie games on the market! And seems to be a passionate labour of love from dedicated indie devs that have been supporting the game even now! Unlike Left 4 Dead and other contemporary games, this one is a 'realistic' take, where the zombies are slower and die with a simple head shot. This makes for a interesting change of pace whereby the player can be lured into a false sense of security until they are ambushed by a seemingly endless large group. This creates an uneasy sense of tension that is rarely matched in other games especially when the player relies on a flash light in usually dark settings as well as the need to keep an eye on ammo consumption. The player can also enable an 'infection' mode that makes the player have a chance of becoming a zombie after getting hit even once for an extra challenge (although innoculators will cure the infection if you can find one). Every now and then the player will be faced with a sporadic 'horde' that will force the player to contemplate how best to 'crowd control' with a large group of zombies and it can be quit stressful! The best thing about the game is certainly the gun play. There is a variety of guns, each with different ammo types, although some guns are simply better than others and the inventory capacity limit to 4 is definitely a downside that could be better designed. The soundtrack is awesome, especially the 'Death Train' level track. The base campaign 'Last Stop' was thoroughly enjoyable, with lots of exploration and varied levels including some tough scripted sequences. The latest campaign that was recently added, is short but fantastic and very well polished. 'Escape' is the standard game mode that is also conducive of the campaigns, this is a story driven 'objective oriented' mode that is designed to be played single player as well as co op. 'Extraction' is where players must work together to save NPCs in incremental round based hordes. 'Panic' is a harder version of Escape that's recommended for co op, 'Hunted' is PVP where players can exploit being a zombie upon death, 'Flatline' is the 'COD Zombies' style arcade mode and 'Horde' is one endless horde that tasks you with surviving for 25 minutes per map for achievements ;) The game has the capability of modding and there are some custom campaigns in the workshop. All in all my friend and I had a blast and would thoroughly recommend this game for a great and unique zombie shooter that plays into a more 'realistic' niche made by excellent indie devs who clearly have a passion for what they do!

I don't know man.. Haven't played the game for ages but I remember having fun with it when I first got it. Devs keep updating this after all these years, worthy of a thumbs up!

Probably one of the best games worth gifting too other people for the 4 pack deal. Played it when it came out.. Lost my old account and rebought it aswell as give out 4 individual copies of the game.. One of the best Zombie Shooters on PC with a survival mission based aspect.. It has its own campaign built into the game / maps and it is amazing. i love it.. Come play with me... I could probably send u a copy if the devs help me gift it at 3-4$ us i could gift another 20 people or so. That worth it i would invest into keeping the game alive.. I love you devs

Contagion is a Rube Goldberg machine of chaos, where every moving part is a potential failure point. It’s a love letter to entropy, where the only certainty is that your next playthrough will be as meaningless as the last. If you’re looking for a game that mirrors the absurdity of existence, look no further. Just don’t expect any answers—Contagion doesn’t believe in them.
