Daytime: You feel like an untouchable rooftop ninja. Nighttime: You miscalculate one jump, hear a Volatile hiss behind you, and remember what real panic feels like. The Reloaded update finally fixed the floaty combat and brought back the gritty physical impact the first game had. The parkour momentum feels responsive, dropkicking enemies off buildings never gets old, and night runs genuinely get your heart rate up. [*] Parkour flow that actually rewards momentum [*] Visceral melee combat with real weight [*] Night chases that keep you on edge If you held off on launch due to the mixed feedback, the game is in a much better state now. Absolutely worth diving into.
Unfortunately, the story is below average. The graphics are good for the time it was released. Although the gameplay becomes highly repetitive, the parkour mechanics are enough to keep you engaged and help cover its flaws. Despite a long time having passed since its release, bugs still disrupt the experience. I enjoyed it well enough. But once I'd finished the main story, I had zero interest in playing any more. Unlike with DL1, where I'd happily waste hours farming better weapons and blueprints. Overall, it’s an above-average game, but one that fails to meet expectations.
