An extremely solid game, BScotch's finest work yet. I was already a fan of the first game, but even on PC Crashlands 1 felt like a mobile game port. The sequel is an entirely different story; the graphics and animations are vastly improved, the gameplay is much improved imo (a lot less grinding than the first game, deeper combat), and the world is more fun to explore while also feeling much more alive. Give it a shot!

I just finished. Had to wait till it went on sale because I'm on SS. Yup, I'm 71 years young. I loved Crashlands and I simply loved Crashlands2. tip: if you get stuck, just keep playing, it'll work out, I promise. I'm sad I finished the game, so now, I'm going to play it again at a different level :) Buy it, it's hours of fun.

Go buy the game. It's great! If you liked the first Crashlands, you'll enjoy this sequel. Most of the drawbacks from the original game are gone. That means more of the stuff that was great about the first game. Is Crashlands 2 perfect? No. Is it a ton of fun and filled with hours (50 or so for me) of content? Absolutely. Especially with such a small studio working on it. I had fun from start to finish. Are there downsides? Sort of. The items needed to upgrade your pets and equippable items are spread throughout the entire world. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but often I found myself running all around the map just to kill a few enemies to gather a few random bits from them. The teleportation system makes this a lot easier, but a little less backtracking for materials would be welcomed. Most of the boss battles aren't too difficult, but some are real pains. The first fight with the pink robot (you'll know her when you see her) was a pain in the butt. I died a half dozen times trying to figure out her strengths and weaknesses. Still, once you beat her, it feels worth it. After that fight, I started upgrading my gear with mobility perks so I could dodge attacks and flank more easily. The amount of damage you do is less important than studying patterns, topping up your health, and dodge-rolling around the battlefield. The deadliest/tankiest enemies will go down soon enough. The base building is fun. A problem I ran into, though, were the sundry items I had to place down in order to increase the comfort of the people in my base as well as the animals I tamed. By the end of the game I had dozens of oddly-shaped rooms in my base to meet the requirements of each of the townsfolk. If you get joy out of base building and beautification, think long and hard about how you lay out your structures. I had to add so many little nooks to each of the rooms that it was nearly impossible to make a streamlined and functional base. One tip for base beautification deals with the tamable pets you can find eggs for throughout the world. Once you meet the hatching requirements for the egg, you don't need to keep the nests and hatching requirements met. Often you'll be met with conflicting room requirements to hatch an egg but after it hatches, you can store the nest and pet anywhere in the base you want. I didn't really figure that out until I was near the end of the game and had two pets with conflicting hatch requirements. Once one hatched, I was able to hatch the other. The only other tip is to always collect the Juice Jems. The Jems will appear on the map if they are within the sight radius of your character. Check the map once you clear out an area and make sure there is no fog of war and no random Jems you missed before teleporting away. The Jems are hidden but you should be able to find them all. They are used to upgrade your pets as well as increase your own abilities. There are 5 rows of stats and each row increases the Jem cost by 1 compared to the last tier.. You need 72 Jems to max out your stats and another 27 to upgrade all of your pets. If you search well enough, you'll find them all by the end of the game. Still, you are often unable to get enough per section to morph all three tamable pets per area as well as upgrade your own stats. Find one pet that you really like. (They attack the same way as similar enemies of that pet type.) The more you can buff your own stats the better. Some pets are better against certain enemies than others. It's a balancing act but not punishing if you don't choose perfectly. If you are still reading this, stop. Go buy the game. It's great.

Crashlands 2 has improved everything from the first game. The new combat system is amazing, also the variety of monsters - enemies and pets. I beat the game in 50 hrs on Adventure with moderate base-building and upgrading almost all pets. At launch, the game felt a bit boring, but after a couple of major updates, it finally feels like the Crashlands 2 I was hoping for.
