Informational Stuff: Traversing the map: FTL style exploration with outposts, events, shops, and fights Outposts: Scavanger style gameplay like REPO, Kletka or Lethal Company. Sometimes theres a bomb that you have to defuse to prevent flooding, sometimes its pre-flooded. High chance at money and loot, medium chance at death. A few different types of enemies with 2 main humanoid types being most common. You can also turn on gas lights by looking at them, or fix electric lights if you find the console. Shops: Spend your money to customize the size of your sub or what is in it, make it a maze, make rooms inaccessible, the options are up to you. Remember that you can happily run with rooms just for their passive buffs. Pick supplies off the ground if your moving rooms around, and out of the lockers in a room if your going to sell the room. Events: Chance at free loot or fights Ship Vs Ship combat: First person FTL. One person solves a puzzle to buff evasion, One person steers the ship to avoid mines and more evasion buffs, one person handles targeting and reloading, last person repairs the hull and pumps out water (if you have a pump, if not then you better get to a shop or an outpost). You can comfortably play with as few as 2, swapping tasks and focusing on what needs to get done at that moment. Ship HP doesn't exist, you only have to worry about how much water you have on board, and if there is too much, finding a way to stop yourself from drowning. The ship doesn't die till you are all dead so its fairly forgiving. (Low risk Low reward) First Person combat (boarding parties): glitch as hell and likely to get you killed without achieving much, but its a fun side option for when you decide enough is enough. Weapons are fair enough, but coming up surrounded by 4 people can be a little much in most cases. (High risk Slightly less low reward) Meta Progression: Unlock 5 ship types by completing different achievements as you play, none of them are overly difficult and the different ships are unique enough to keep things interesting. Death: Run around a rat, mocking your former crewmates while they cant hear you by rotating on their asses. Be revived for free in outposts (randomly within the outpost), or at cost at stores. Either way you will leave all your gear with your corpse, and wont even get a complimentary wrench. Story: Exists, gets you buy, is fun to read the logs when you have time. Expect your emergent story telling to be the focus though. Personal Opinion: Aside from the boarding parties, game is fairly bug free considering its Early Access status. 10$ is a fair price point for it's current state, and I hope to see more that gets me excited as time goes on. If the devs add in more enemy veriety, fix up the boarding parties, maybe a few more area types such as caves to explore, a bit more diversity in events (like people asking for more than just fuel) and maybe even a few more systems and I would pay 30$. Heck if they go HAM and add in tons of stuff I might even go higher than that. Either way though, at the current price point with the current content Its a damn fine recomendation from me.

Enjoyable, but truly early access. Hoping to see further development. Potential is there.

Yes. Give me a shotgun, put me in a torpedo and fuckin SEND IT chief. This game absolutely rocks. Good on the developers for making such a simple but good experience. The different starter subs provide replayability and encourages you to go for challenges/achievements in order to unlock them.

It does something I've wanted to see for a while. It takes the game FTL: Faster Than Light and tries to creatively apply its mechanics into a first person multiplayer experience. However, I feel it's limited by a few things and I want to go over each of them. Combat System Taking the ship combat mechanics straight from FTL is a good idea. Picking your ships weapons and choosing what they each target on cooldown is great. But you've neglected a QoL feature of FTL: The ability to Shift select multiple weapons, or click and drag for those who prefer mouse and keyboard. Melee PvE feels terrible and is on of the major reasons why I can't recommend the game. It feels totally unpolished and not fun. The blocking mechanic is inconsistent. At worst combat is reduced to simply trading blows with various AI, which all do nothing other than path toward you and attack nonstop. Friendly fire is very easy because the players do not collide with one another and you can attack a teammate very easily. When a subsystem takes critical damage, I noticed it can completely disappear. Leaving a wall as if the room never existed. I find that to be a very weird and disorienting feature. Instead, consider rendering the room in a destroyed state with an un-patchable leak, and allow players to manually seal it off using a door. UI and Movement Sorry to say the player's basic UI is pretty terrible. Unless I'm missing something, you can't organize your hotbar how you'd like, unless you finesse it by dropping and re-grabbing items items in order. The movement also feels pretty bad. I realize there's no necessity to crouch, but the lack of the feature makes the game feel incomplete. And in general it gives the game an unpolished feel. The AI and the movement both are the weakest points of this game. This contrasted with amazing 3d models and (some) great animations is a constant reminder that the game is unfinished.. Audio The voip was unusable for us. Which is a bummer since we like the idea of the immersion. It would lag and chop up our voices a lot. This may be due to post-processing effects on voice chat. Which is the subject of another issue we had - The ship intercom voice modification is too strong. It's very difficult or impossible to really hear what someone is saying over it. But we liked the idea, it's cool. We agreed the music at the shops is also terrible, and I ended up just muting all music altogether in the menus. Please consider adding a radio with a toggle within the store so you can mute just that radio if you choose. While I can't recommend the game, I'm going to leave a positive review for the sake of giving it the best chance at evolving into something better.

As a Chinese player, here are some of my thoughts and opinions on the game. Due to my limited English proficiency, I have to use translation software. Please excuse any translation errors. 1. Map generation. It is too simple and repetitive, causing aesthetic fatigue. There are even cases where there is nothing at the end of a path and a short, meaningless path. Also, there are too few random events, which cannot provide enough replay value. It is suggested to add new room types, improve the map generation logic, and increase the number of random events. 2. Lack of combat system. Ground battles: The differences between melee weapons cannot be easily distinguished, giving the impression of a meaningless brawl. There is a lack of sufficient feedback experience, and the types and mechanisms of monsters are too simple and lack novelty. It is suggested to adjust the enemy AI appropriately and allow players to handle monster corpses to increase combat rewards. Underwater battles: There are too few areas that players can control. The idea of allowing players to design their own submarines is very good, but it is not reflected in the game itself. It is suggested to increase the functions of submarines. 3. Exploration. The experience of finding supplies is not friendly to new players. Supplies are not prominent enough and difficult to discover. The supply itself is too scarce, and the storage space of the submarine is too small. Resources such as fuel and torpedoes are consumed too quickly and are difficult to replenish in time, forcing players to spend money on fuel rather than upgrading the submarine or other rooms. Moreover, there are too few exploration events on the submarine, lacking enough novelty to maintain interest. It is suggested to add more events related to the submarine itself, such as deep-sea monsters and descriptions of the outside world, to increase immersion and make players more dependent on and secure about the submarine's existence. 4. System design. It is suggested to add a task system and collectible items to reduce the sense of repetition for players. NPCs can also be added appropriately to enrich the game content. These are my personal thoughts. My evaluation is that the game has a promising future and its merits outweigh its flaws. It can be seen from some aspects that the development team has sufficient ideas for the game. As long as it is continuously optimized and improved, it will be an excellent work. I recommend this game to players who are interested in deep-sea exploration and multiplayer gameplay. (Tentative)
