TL;DR – funny, frustrating, but in a good way I really enjoyed Deponia, mostly because of how dumb (in a lovable way) Rufus is and how ridiculous the whole junk-planet setting is. A lot of the fun comes from just clicking on everything and reading the dialogue, because the game keeps throwing jokes at you even when you’re just trying to combine trash with more trash. The point-and-click puzzles can get pretty weird sometimes, and yeah, I definitely had a few “how was I supposed to think of that??” moments, but pulling off the right item combo after being stuck feels super satisfying. The characters and voice acting also help carry the game, so even when you’re confused, it’s still entertaining to stick around and see what happens next. Games also often goes on a 90% sale if you are really low on funds, though arguably, this game is worth even at it's full price. If you like classic adventure games with lots of dialogue, dumb plans, and trial-and-error puzzles, Deponia is a fun time — just be ready to overthink some solutions.

Charming point-and-click adventure with witty writing and a playful world. Puzzles are clever without being obtuse, and the characters carry the humor. If you like classic adventures, this scratches the itch nicely

Decent game, but not for me. The art and humor are nice, and the gameplay is solid if you’re into point-and-click adventures. The story’s okay too. But honestly, I got bored after a while. Just didn’t keep me interested. Might be fun for others, but it didn’t click with me.

A very fun point and click adventure. Some puzzles don't make the most amount of sense, but I feel like that's expected from games like this. I also found the gameplay(ui?) a bit janky sometimes, but nothing too bad. Rufus might just be THE most unlikeable protagonist in any game I've played. In a game filled with crazy stuff, him having a GIRLFRIEND at some point in his life is the most unbelievable part. But him being an insufferable egoist is the whole point of his character, and the game never misses a chance to make fun of him for it. And overall, his character growth doesn't feel too unnatural. He ended up doing the right thing but for a more selfish reason - and yet that one action might've pushed him in the right direction (at least that's what it seems like, i assume he'll be a bit better in sequels (but also if they make him immediately very good i'll be upset because that just doesn't seem realistic for his character)). Loved Goal though, for as little of screentime that she had, she really shined quite a lot. I really wish there was more of her, but that's what the sequels are for, ig. But yes, overall a pretty fun time. Do recommend if you like these kinds of games.
