In this game, you play as Rufus, a gigantic egoistical moron, on his journey to leave the planet of Deponia, a planet full of trash, in order to reach Elysium the last paradise on earth where you can find clean water. For that you will try to abuse your friends and cause them a lot of trouble to reach your ends. Honestly, the main character in this game does some horrible things that will make feel bad about yourself but this game is still wonderful in all senses. You are exploring the interesting world of Deponia through lots of beautifully drawn screens. You meet nice characters that are wonderfully voiced. You solve highly varying puzzles. The story is full dark humour and sometimes it's things that are silly but very funny like when you have to choose the lines for the lisping Janos so that when he repeats them Rufus doesn't laugh at him. The music is also quite exceptional. People often talk about the parts by poki but the in-game ost is equally good. Overall, the game is absolutely mesmerizing and I enjoyed it so much. Note: I played the game on Linux and other than a minor (fixable) bug with the fullscreen mode, the game runs fine. I didn't experience the bugs people described.

Review by [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/34633003-Gaming-Masterpieces/lists/] Gaming Masterpieces - The greatest games of all time on Steam. If you are just interested in point and click adventures go here: [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/43642699-The-Adventure-Library/lists/] The Adventure Library Is this game a masterpiece? It would be, IF... Deponia: The Complete Story is the magnus opus of Daedalic - a company often referred to as LucasArts successor (until they left the adventure genre, like their role model). This edition consists of the first three parts of the series, and it took me around 50 hours to finish it. I obviously enjoyed it, because the game offers well-structured puzzles, fantastic 2D visuals, professional voice-overs and a polished engine. The main parts of each of the three games take place in just one, quite large location. In Deponia you spend most of your time in your hometown with around 25 single screens, all full of hotspots, items, characters and often connected in some way. Chaos in Deponia takes place mostly in the Floating Black Market (and then on the surrounding isles), which is even a bit larger, while in the final part you are split into three separate characters exploring (most of the time) three separate parts of Porta Fisco - switching items between them. Puzzles are solved by using items, talking to characters, and the game contains various minigames. You can never die, you can never reach a dead-end, the story is kind of... funny. There are a lot of missable cheavos - I just got 67 of 105. The whole thing would be perfect. It is not, though. You might dislike your character, Rufus, who is an annoying moron. But, well, you cannot always play the perfect hero. There are a bunch of other charming characters during the game as well, some in all three parts, some have to endure Rufus only for a shorter time. I personally loved his ex-girlfriend Toni. The story, while funny, has a bunch of twists that may not really make sense, but we are used to that from (not only) adventure games. More importantly, the game always kind of tells you what needs to be done next and drops a lot of hints on how to get there. Really well-done. There is one thing that cannot be ignored, though: The Complete Edition contains at least two game-breaking bugs (and a bunch of other not game-breaking bugs). Two of the minigames in Deponia simply cannot be finished, which might not even be too obvious. So you are stuck, and don't even realize that you are stuck. I could only get past this by downloading a saved game from the (still working) homepage. The bugs are well-documented, but Daedalic is obviously not able to fix them. I am only upvoting the game because the rest of the game is really, really good. Conclusion: Near-perfect, long adventure in a cartoon universe - with two broken, game-stopping minigames in the first part.

Deponia’s a mess, but it’s bursting with soul, Rufus, the “hero”, can’t stay in control! A plot spun from scrap, with twists that surprise, You’ll laugh, groan, and facepalm as chaos applies. From Goal’s fried circuits to junk-pile debates, Each character’s flawed, yet brilliantly great. Three games of pure madness, a trilogy’s ride, Where logic takes naps and trash becomes pride. The jokes hit like lightning, the heart’s never lost— Huzzah! It’s a junk-heap where genius is tossed!

Great opportunity to replay the trilogy and still experience some new things, or play it for the first time, without having to manually switch between games. The main new things, the dev commentary, does feel like it fits the Deponia vibe, and the technical info about the creation process is just a small part of goofing around, and a bunch of singing! Also, glad they added a new collectibles for the first Deponia, however, do wish they took the chance to fix some minor issues especially in Chaos on Deponia, and also that you could go back to the chapter from previous Deponia games in the questlog, just so you can look back more fully on the whole journey as you progress.

Point and click with excellent humour, funny characters and lots of stupid yet reasonable solutions. 10/10 can't recommend it enough.
