Diary of Lucie is a game following Lucie in what appears to a dream world. Story: It revolves around Lucie, the temple, and what transpired with god many years before. Lucie slowly regains her memories over time, and as it comes along, more suspicion is drawn to the temple. It appears that Lucie is someone special in this sense. Her goal being to climb the temple, but not because of its restrictions, the temple's goal which she does not seem to care about. Though, to meet a friend at the top. It is quite an interesting story, and connects quite well. Gameplay: It revolves around a semi-rouge system. Where if you die, you restart from the beginning. However, you unlock more powers up to help you along the way. The game has weapon durability, so this has to be kept an eye on. It also combines bullet hell in a clever way that works with melee. After every 3 floors, there are bosses. To cut it short, power up a lot before challenging the bosses. There are various types of magic, skills, enhancers, and weapons. Each depending on the situation can be valuable. However, the major flaw in the game is how you are required to beat it all in one go. This is a terrible design choice, and the game isn't well built to handle this. I had to edit the save file just to beat the game. It requires far too many precise inputs for far too long, it is not feasible. Things to Expect: Since it is a Bullet Hell, expect to be required to make precise dodges. There are different difficulties, the game recommends green, but I believe it has to be beaten on normal to complete it. Overall: It is a fun game, but it does take some time. I should also mention, it does have some slight translation issues, and you'll need to configure the right analog stick if you use a controller. I'd recommend giving the game a shot. Though, I'd recommend to just edit the save to get through it. It is a good game, but is held back by its poor balance.

Fun game, but some details are less clear than they need to be, such as specifics for what different stats do. Most likely a translation issue, as occasionally you'll see parts that are either worded strangely or which are not translated at all. That problem is rare enough that it doesn't interfere with an english speakers ability to understand the story, and honestly - kind of fits in a weird way IMO considering the occasional meta aspect to the game

It's a good game. The start is a tad slow, and isn't particularly fun outside of introducing some characters, the gameplay system, and some story. Dialogue wise it's mostly translated to English, with some lines or the name of the person speaking being left in Korean. But the message still comes across and if the story is important to you, it's service-able enough. The game has come a long way from its early access period and has continuously added systems to the game to make it easier, enjoyable, and digestable. The gameplay is rock solid, with a large emphasis on dodging to empower your attacks and keep the combo going without being hit. The enemies have clear cut attack patterns that you must learn to "get good" but it doesn't feel unfair despite the bullet hell aspect. They have added in a real progression system post early access and if you need a sense of getting stronger, it provides. The game has a lot of heart and I can recommend giving it a try.

My rating is leaning more towards neutral than recommended. Fun and moderately difficult roguelike. Each run you're granted a selection of random skills every level and every floor you're able to loot random items and artifacts that give you passive bonuses. Mob rooms become very dangerous on the later floors, bosses feel like a bullet hell and it's fairly unforgiving if you make a lot of mistakes during a run. There's a system that lets you combine items to create new ones, however combining items feels very frustrating in the exploration phase because 95% of the time you're going to create fodder out of two items because there's nearly zero information on what combines with what. Even with completing the game multiple times I am still hesitant buying expensive items to experiment combining with as it could jeopardise a run. Story is basically non-existent or not finished. There's a prologue you need to complete and then nearly nothing afterwards. Tutorial is very weak, needs to be fleshed out a lot more. Translation could use some work, some items are not translated well or at all. Some text on items are cut off, specifically equipments with enchantment. English version is not up to date with KR version yet. KR version has the encyclopedia update which shows information about status effects and other helpful information. KR version also lets you remap a lot more buttons. Controller support is a bit buggy and hard to get used to the default controls on EN because it doesn't let you remap the buttons. At its current state and price, I would say it's only worth playing if you're a gameplay orientated player and don't mind not having a story to enjoy.

This game really reminded me of the old games on the gameboy advance. The tutorial itself is kinda clunky and I found myself scratching my head figuring out what to do next so Im am going to placed the steps here in case anyone gets stuck. [*]Enter the Left Room and push the bottom crate (it is a chair btw) forward (to the left) to open the chest with a key [*]Enter the Right Room and once your ignore the 4 chairs surrounding the table and go far right and open the chest with the pendent. [*]Once your able to dash, exit the room and RETURN to the room to the left. Dash over the top crate (chair) and push the bottom crate (chair) that you previously pushed to the right. Continue pushing it out of the room. [*] Push the chair into the Right room and push it below the shelf that holds the staff [*] Progress the story and have fun
