I'm shocked at how much new content has been added to the game since the last open beta test, even though not much time has passed. I was also happy to see that, besides adding new features, they are improving what was already there. For example, familiar locations are starting to shine with new colors. There are new weapons and tools! OIL RIG! It’s nice to see that the work on the project is in full swing, especially when remembering the first beta test. Much respect to the developers! Off to raid some disobedient ducks! 🦆 Quack! 2 months later update: Still sick, can't stop to play

People keep saying it's a Rust clone. It quite literally is Deadside re-skinned. Great progression flow, never felt held back. Once you start upgrading your base everything just flows so smoothly. Community is unbelievably toxic, but what Open World Survival Craft PVP MMO isn't. UPDATE: Player count has fizzled to a mere third of what it was when this review was originally posted earlier in October. It hasn't even been a full 4 weeks and servers are barren, and player counts are unaffected by server/blueprint wipes. That being said, I cannot recommend anyone invest their time in to a game that could be a ghost town this time next month. It was great in the first week, now, not so much.

Love the game. Yes they are still fixing bugs in the game but its an awesome game. I do recommend a PVE server to learn the game because just like rust most people dont care if your just starting out and will kill you and take your stuff. Highly recommend getting people to play with as well because going solo is hard unless you plan to lock into the game and playing regularly.

game is fun. flying around, collecting resources, building a nest. something about being a duck, flying around and wielding tools and weapons is super enjoyable. people compare it to rust. i have never tried rust, but quickly comparing the two it seems duckside is much more on the cute side. i got sold because of that. and im sure many other players will try it because of that as well. but expiriencing the angry and immature world of the majority of current players is just a big turn off. the current player base seems super toxic to me. global chat is at times truly disgusting. from a complete newbie perspective, so far i had no luck with friendly players. i get insta killed, while i have no weapons or loot. my nest got raided by three players once. i hardly had anything inside, but they still thought it was fun to destroy my nest. honestly, im stressed out to log in today to see if my new nest survived the night. it probably didnt lul its sad that such a nice game might be infested with just one type of sweaty players, while others like me who enjoy crafting and building aspect much more than killing other players, will sooner or later quit cos of our efforts go to waste so quickly. being in a nest should feel cosy for a new player. not feeling of constant threat... idk. maybe its just me and this game truly is not for me. but then again, nothing will ever change. so hopefully in future there is a place in this game for the cosy builders, pve besties and loot grinders. fingers crossed i know its not really in my power to change community for the better. it's just my thoughts, because game feels nice to play. until you encounter the angry sweaty duck with nothing better to do than to make your life as miserable as theirs. so thats why i would recommend trying this game if you have a friend. its really rough and lonely out there for a solo player rn~
