Great Memories, But Technically Dated Playing Dungeon Rampage again feels like a trip back in time. The nostalgia factor is incredible. It feels exactly like the Facebook days. However, that’s also its biggest flaw. I expected a bit of a remaster or modernization, but it feels like a direct port with all its old jagged edges. Pros: [*] NO Pay-to-Win: The best change is the removal of P2W mechanics. Everything is unlockable by playing. However, I predict that some form of in-game purchases will likely be added in the future. [*] Dev Communication: The developers seem active and are listening to the community, which gives me hope for future updates. [*] Classic Feel: If you missed the original game, the core gameplay loop is still satisfying. Cons & Areas for Improvement: [*] Bugs & Glitches: The game is quite buggy. For example, trying to switch to 'Windowed Mode' freezes the game, and the chest opening animation often loops endlessly at the end of matches. [*] Keybindings: You cannot change keyboard settings. We need the option to customize controls. [*] Matchmaking: The matchmaking is unbalanced. Level 1 players often get matched with high level players. [*] The Grind: The gameplay loop gets repetitive, and earning coins feels overly difficult and slow right now. [*] Better UI & Detailed Stats: The current UI is too basic. I can see my kills, but I can't see 'Total Damage Dealt' or which bosses/enemies I killed. Also, it’s unclear how much my upgraded stats actually affect my power. We need a detailed breakdown after matches. [*] Chat System: A proper chat system without bugs would be so much better. [*] Game Engine: Technically, the game still runs on the old Adobe AIR/Flash engine, not a modern engine. This explains the lack of basic features like key remapping and the optimization issues. Honestly, I expected the game to launch with a more current-gen game engine rather than the old system. The current technical foundation limits the game's true potential. However, I truly believe that if the developers continue to update and polish the game, it can evolve into something legendary again. It has massive potential to be even better than it was in the past.

This game brought me right back to the golden days of gaming on my old laptop. Despite its age, Dungeon Rampage remains just as fun and addictive as ever. I really hope the developers continue to update and expand the game with new features to keep the experience fresh and alive for both returning fans and new players. Huge credit to the devs for reviving this classic gem and keeping the spirit of old-school gaming alive!

It’s 2012. It’s raining outside. You’re playing the game while sipping your tea. You have no problems in life. Your mom calls, “Darling, dinner is ready!” You reply, “In a minute, Mom.” You keep playing the game until your mom unplugs the cable. Ahh, the good old days…
