EDF 6 is a lobotimizing experience. You trade braincells for dopamine in a game coded by Hirohito himself.

Bottom line up front: I absolutely recommend the game to EXISTING fans of the EDF series. I would NOT recommend it as someone's FIRST entry into the series. The story is VERY slow and excessively repetitive for an EDF game, if you are new to EDF you will unlikely understand what is happening and be frustrated by the time-loop mechanic. If you are new to EDF I suggest diving in via EDF4.1, EDF5 or any of the "World Brothers" games, you don't have to play all the games or play them in any order, these ones are just more entry friendly with very clear story and difficulty progression. I enjoy EDF games and have hundreds of hours on previous however I did NOT enjoy probably the first 80 missions, sure there are classics maps from previous games which were cool but the first 2/3rds of the game suck. The difficulty even on normal is a bit all over the place but in general I think it's harder than previous titles; I did enjoy the difficulty spikes as they forced me to play different classes, grind weapons, and develop my skills. The story is great, the end of the game has a ton of fan service, its' cool seeing how the future of the city progresses and how the Primers change over time, the new Barga mechanics are cool, and the set piece battles are bigger than ever! The last couple missions are awesome just like previous EDF titles, I like how the end builds up and how fun the final missions are. All the above being said, the front portion of the game was a horrible slog though and I feel that if this was someone's first EDF title they'd probably drop it half way though and leave with a bitter taste in thei rmouth.

Good game; Hopefully Sandlot realizes how useless epic games and Sony are as companies. Steam is the better platform.

Devs fixed the bugs and got rid of the Epic stuff. Same ol' silly fun as EDF5 but with some QoL and a bigger campaign.
