I wish this game was longer because I had SO MUCH fun finishing it entirely! The system is awesome, the arts and the ambiance is spot on with an incredible soundtrack! I do recommend it!

It's good, but it advertises itself incorrectly. This game isn't a Souls-like at all, in any way; it's 100% an Igavania of the most classic kind, in the tradition of Symphony of the Night. Once you get used to the slightly stiff controls (no action canceling!) it plays smoothly and well, and while I'm not far in the game, so far at least the encounter design is good. The graphics and music are above-par, and the writing is... adequate, at least. If you like classic Igavania games (think the GBA and DS ones), then you will probably like this game. If you come looking for a Souls-like, you will most likely be disappointed, because the combat is significantly less meaty than in those games, in favor of platformer style spacing and exploration instead. From what I can tell, the negative reviews are almost all because of the "old-school" elements of the gameplay, so take into consideration whether or not you are okay with that. For my part, I enjoy gameplay with restrictions, it forces me to think of tactics and workarounds and make careful use of my abilities. If you prefer more fluid gameplay, buy with that caveat in mind or pass over it.

A fun metrovania. Does not have a ton of new ideas, but that is not what brings you to this game. Elderand plays a bit with religion, madness and a classic metrovania experience. Classic boss fights, secrets, a huge map and a ton of weapons is what makes this game fun and worth your time. Not a ton of re-play value, but this is not an expensive game, so, the trade-off is fair. Keep note that playing as a mage and assassin can be really challenging.

Just beat it with 100% map completion, I missed a bunch of items but the gameplay as a mage was phenomenal. If you like metroidvania with more vania or any metroidvania style game this is for you. I got up to level 61 and got good ending. I highly recommend this title to metroidvania fans. Correction: I realized that I actually got the regular ending.
