It's fun. The gameplay is addictive. The characters are charming. The story is dark, depressing. And every woman in this game just has these absolutely HUGE.... um, tracts of land. I don't envy their eventual back problems. That's for sure. Some bosses are a bit of a mess (looking at you Maximillian II), but the combat works pretty well. It's even got some depth to it. The platforming is... it's there. Nothing special. Speaking of platforming though, this IS NOT a metroidvania. It's a 2D side-scrolling JRPG hack-n-slash. Just so it's clear. The Playstation/Switch versions got a special outfit apparently that looks pretty dope. Shame we didn't get it. Devs have been saying since 2023 "we'll add mod support. it's one of our goals", and here we are.... three years later...... Oh well, can't have everything!
Really fun game! I tried it out because of the pretty art style,but the game was just as enjoyable. Just the right amount of difficulty,freedom to grind and abuse its mechanics,fun to explore around. The story is probably the only area where it was just okay,but it doesnt really take away from the fun i had. (for anyone that thinks this is a gooner game just because characters look sexy,the fanservice really just stops at character design)
For $4, this game absolutely BANGS out loud. I got it on sale for 84 cents and feel as though I cheated these devs. THERE'S OUTCOMES TO LOSING BOSS FIGHTS!!?? The story isn't bad at all and the builds for your protag later on in the game get wild. I like the art a lot. Reminds me of Vanillaware games. Solid piece of work, here.
