Sept. 2025
So the game feels like Fallout, in a way. There are checks for things like [Dialog] [Lockpick] etc. It's pretty easy to level them up, go find the teacher in that skill. Sometimes you need to gain their trust first. There is no voice acting as of now, which I don't mind. I've seen a few grammar issues, which again, I don't mind. The biggest issue i've had with that stuff is it's hard to tell sometimes who is supposed to be "talking". The camera is supposed to move between the characters but sometimes (such as interacting with a terminal) you're just reading lines and you have no idea who is saying what. Then add in the A.I is saying stuff so you have 3 characters talking. Some of the quests are broken. You go to turn in a quest and it says "X person is busy right now" or whatever. So I can't progress that part. But I can still move on since the game sees I finished it (the quest being part of a quest chain so I need to go somewhere else now). I just don't get the rewards for the broken quest. Loot, money, etc is nice. You don't feel starved for anything, you don't feel like you need to run a certain build. I haven't beaten the game yet. Really taking my time running around. I'd argue the biggest gripe I have, so far, is being told to head North for something and ending up I needed to go East. Like I read the dialog, the notes, etc. Everything said North. Cool. Found the stuff (person, clue, next objective, whatever) very East. So not even a little bit off like "oh maybe the character just moved because they were on a stroll". I still think the game is very much worth it. I dunno when the game will come out, but I enjoy playing it now. I don't have some crazy OP build. There isn't some V.A.T.S system, but I do feel like a cowboy around some aliens. Lots of talk of space ships too. Maybe one day I'll be a Space Cowboy. EDIT: I've more than doubled the amount of playtime since I first reviewed this game. I've finished the 0.75 build, doing most of the quests and getting the message "Congrats you've beaten all we have so far" or whatever the message says. There are a few things I'd change to the game, but overall I'm super excited for it. The 0.75 build right now is just the first area. I have no idea how many "areas" there will be, the story tells you that you'll need to go to a large town (the town you first find isn't really a town its a hole in the wall), and the major city you hear about is on the other side of the planet that will take "months" to get to. The game says you'll be able to buy, or fix up, a motorcycle looking vehicle for transportation but thats not available yet. The 0.75 build ends when you go to turn in the quests that allow you to leave the town. The thing I really like is there are about 4 different quests to leave this town, so if you want to side with a specific faction, destroy another faction, or go full Yes Man from Fallout and get rid of all the factions, there is a quest line that has options for you to do exactly that and still get out of town. You aren't locked to "must side with X group to leave". Graphics wise it is dated. But this game isn't being made by Bethesda, Ubisoft, or some other big name company. I think for what this game is the graphics fit the look. The music can get repetitive after a while, especially if you're playing like 4 hours straight, but again this isn't a big name company making this. But you see I have to kind of reach to find complaints? If you are on the fence about it go watch some gameplay and come back. Its worth full price in my opinion.
