Food Truck Simulator – Somewhere Between Sizzle and Stagnation If you’ve ever dreamed of cruising through the city in a stylish food truck, serving up burgers, fries, and good vibes, Food Truck Simulator might catch your eye. From the makers of Gas Station Simulator, this game sticks to the familiar formula: a bit chaotic, a bit charming – and that’s exactly where its appeal lies. What works well: 1. The beginning feels rewarding: You inherit your late father’s food truck, giving the game a personal and emotional hook. The early stages – getting the truck ready, learning the ropes, and serving your first customers – are motivating and fun. 2. Cooking is genuinely engaging: There’s a nice blend of time management and cooking mechanics. You’ll need to slice, grill, and assemble orders correctly, all under pressure. If you like organizing chaos, you’ll enjoy this aspect. 3. The atmosphere is on point: The city feels alive, the truck has nice visual detail, and the idea of building a customer base in different neighborhoods is solid. The in-game radio with multiple music genres adds a nice touch. What doesn't work: 1. Bugs and optimization issues: Sadly, the game still suffers from technical problems. Customers sometimes vanish, orders glitch out, or your truck gets stuck on invisible objects. It’s frustrating, especially when you’re doing well. 2. Gets repetitive over time: Despite the solid foundation, things start to feel a bit samey after a while. There’s a lack of depth or long-term progression. Once you've mastered the basic loop, there isn’t much else to strive for. 3. No updates since 2023: This one stings. A game with so much potential deserves continued attention, but there’s been complete radio silence from the developers since 2023. No new content, no bug fixes – just nothing. 4. So much untapped potential: New recipes, special events, customizable food trucks, or even a larger-scale food court management system could breathe new life into the game. The base is strong – but it desperately needs expansion. 5. Clunky UI and controls: The user interface feels a bit overloaded, especially in the early game. It takes some time to get used to the controls, and things can feel fiddly on mouse and keyboard. Final Thoughts: Food Truck Simulator isn’t perfect, but it has heart. If you enjoy management sims, like the idea of virtual cooking, and can forgive a few rough edges, you’ll find a charming little experience here. It’s not meant for endless marathon sessions, but for chill weekend gaming, it’s a good time. That said, the lack of updates since 2023 and the amount of wasted potential leave a bittersweet aftertaste. With some love and attention, this could have been something much bigger. Score: 7.5/10 – Not a Michelin star yet, but definitely worth a taste.

There's a caveat to my recommendation: You'll have to be patient. There are bugs, bugs that prevent progression through the main story. I still haven't gotten through the sushi tutorial because... there are times when you're cutting the sushi that inputting the numbers doesn't complete the cut, and pressing the number again just keeps cutting nothing and the knife goes on and on into the fryer and off the screen. I've reloaded it and the problem comes back, just not always on the same roll. I was done once, ready to continue, thinking the bug had gone away, then WHAM another order I felt obligated to fulfill and the bug showed up again, on the last order, and I uninstalled. HOWEVER, if you can have patience (I cannot) and eventually get through this, and then NEVER provide sushi again, it's a very enjoyable experience.

I was really looking forward to playing this game and I really liked the concept during early access. However, with framerate issues and the general gameplay combined, the game made me super nauseous and ultimately had to refund the game :(
