I think this game is pretty nice, but overall very short, and I think it becomes less creepy the more you play it. I was definitely pretty freaked out at the beginning, I think it did a really good job of establishing a scary atmosphere. But, the farther I went, the less scared I felt, but overall it was a pretty nice time, I think. Though, I will also say, I recommend getting the game on sale, because its full price kind of feels like a lot to ask for what you get. The dragons in this game get a rating of 0/10, because there are no dragons.

Very unique, didn't rely on jumpscares and cheesy typical moments like vastly seen in movies and other games. Really great design in the entire environment and characters. Not a long game, but not short by any means and really every moment leaves you uneasy and looking forward to, and dreading, the next bit. This was recommended by many and I fully agree this is a worthwhile game to play.

Well this was intense. From the Darkness is a short horror game (took me an hour) that takes place (mostly) inside an apartment. The apartment is cramped and it's not that big, so you can imagine that a lot of things are going to happen. There's a constant tension from the moment you start going through the objects in the house and start noticing weird stuff. When the lights start to fail... dude. Got me a few times, genuine scares. The final part of the game was the weakest for me. Without spoiling, there's a part where you have to go through a certain path while following a correct combination, which felt a bit random until I understood how to recognize the path. And the ending was a bit predictable, but I liked it. This is what a short game should be: not an asset flip, not a cash grab, but a well made compact and intense experience.

- NO SPOILERS - I'm genuinely thankful to N4bA for providing a good psychological horror for me to play through at a respectable price, the market has been saturated, I went into this blind and streamed my experience with a close friend, came out of it feeling fulfilled, exactly what I had been looking for out of this genre of games. To properly review this game I will start with my overall positives that the game provides you with a constant tension, unknown and dread, I personally rarely come across titles that came thrust me into the genuine sense of horror as with movies alike but playing through this almost felt like a harsh, unearthly weight, it's atmosphere is fantastic, the scares involved are very well timed and always unexpected, the appreciate most the timing of it all, it never rushed to 'jumpscare' you into the fear and shock which most indie titles now resort too, which often spoil the genre for me, instead the tension feels it forever builds, although the game will typically last for 1-2 hours, for me it felt like forever, which is exactly a hallmark of a well made, well thought out horror game. It's hard to pull off and through my time playing the moments where you feel or feel you know something is about to occur only to be given nothing over and over, it builds through the game and somehow, someway the developer knew how to stick these very well timed jumps in fear into the game to make it a very enjoyable experience for any horror fanatic. I will only note my negative being the wrap up to the game for myself, I felt the whole time everything was amounting to something, be it the tension building, I felt something huge or very invoking to occur at the end of the play-through but I felt the ending fell a little short, being almost quiet and unfulfilling to something so great otherwise to play through following up to the point, along with this, I felt a story was a developing through the time I played, I had been saying things and speculating whilst playing about what it all possibly meant, what the imagery and horrifying imagery meant, but to no avail as the ending never answered these questions or provided some kind of red herring answer. Outside my personal critic, the experience was fantastic, the price it's listed for and although it maybe considered short, it's by far one of the best experiences I have received from the horror genre in a long while, I never felt it was cheap, it gave me the feeling of horror I was after, that the genre should be after, I would recommend this highly to those looking for the same.
