A really good story with lots of comedic elements along with routes for the side characters as well. The characters are interesting and likeable, with good arts and sprites. I would recommend giving this game a try.

I usually really dislike ASa Project games, they're usually all about humor and just setting up some dumb joke. Futamata Ren'ai is unironically a really interesting exploration of messy love triangles in your college days, if a bit campy at points. It is the first time I've played one of their story's common routes to completion and came away thinking this story was actually pretty alright and I want to see how it concludes. At this time, I have not read a single route to completion, but I think the music, art, and quite surprisingly, the writing too, have all been wonderful, and while I have doubts that the stories will actually conclude in a satisfying manner, I think it is a cut above the average ASa Project game and it's definitely worth checking out, even if you are like me and don't like love triangles. Edit: After finishing all of the routes, unfortunately once the love is won each route kinda reverts into typical ASa Project writing. Which is a huge bummer, because they have such a phenomenal soundtrack (I Want to See the Ocean...), but every ending is essentially an easy comedic ending with hardly any drama from then on. Still, the common route is good. I have some issues with how non-con is portrayed in one of the routes, but, I won't lie and pretend I haven't seen college relationships play out like that. I think it is a very real, but ultimately lighthearted portrayal of the messiness of love in your college years. At the end of the day, Futamata Ren'ai is in some ways a story about a normal person unintentionally breaking the walls down for a bunch of broken people, and how those people find love despite each being broken themselves. As a whole it's not particularly compelling, but unraveling all the drama is itself a nice enough experience, and at the end of the day... we all want to be happy, right?

Good romance visual novel that highlights the strong points of AsaProject's writing, creating a strong chemistry between the MC with each girl so that every banter is not boring as we can clearly see the play-fighting undertone to a lot of it. There is a route where I hoped that one part of the conflict was wrapped up more conclusively though. RuiRui = Yua > Kirame > Myako.

If you've played an ASa Project title before, you probably already know what to expect: Deranged MC and heroines that make you lose half your braincells for every minute you read. And of course, ASa Project delivers just like that. The story follows our two-timing prick protagonist, who for some reason or another, decides to date two girls at the same time one day without telling the other. Of course, this does not stop the plot from being stupid with the things the MC has to pull to not get caught cheating. Surprisingly though, the two-timing/cheating aspect is actually being treated (rather) seriously by the plot. The overall absurdity is also toned down compared to other titles with less 4th wall breaking humor in favor of two-timing and situational jokes instead. As for the individual romance routes, they're nothingburger as usual. Nothing of note happens with h-scenes sprinkled here and there. The characters are probably what will make or break for you. One thing, the MC is an awful person, and he stays awful. The heroines are blunt as expected from this studio. You have Kirame: an airhead who is born to eat takoyaki, Rua: a blatantly manipulative pain in the ass, Ruirui: short-tempered, foul-mouthed, and likes graphically violent magical girls, and Miyako, who is probably a cat. The entire appeal of this VN comes from seeing these characters talking about the greatest topics to ever grace the Earth, like how cockroaches may taste like shrimps or something. Lastly, I personally think this would make a very good moege you want to read if you're fed up with how repetitive moege can be: Instead of the usual MC whose only distinct quality is being a nice person, you get a douchebag who didn't really give a damn about two-timing even after the fact. And instead of heroines whose only character flaw is being bad at cooking, you get a manipulative woman with the most insufferable personality I've ever seen in a moege (and she's PEAK RAHHHH). Of course what I just said was a hyperbole, but hopefully you get what I mean. Anyways, this is my most favorite ASa Project title out of the currently localized 4 (the three other being Koikari, Sankaku Ren'ai, and Ren'ai x Royale) by a long shot. It's also the cheapest one out of the four for some reason.

I think out of all the translated ASa Project titles this is hands down the best one yet. Story wise you have the usual insane premise where things go from 0 to 100 real quick, characters playing 5d chess trying to one-up each other etc. If you played the other titles you will feel at home right away. The MC is an absolute trash bag and you will not feel sorry for him. The girls however, it is almost impossible to have a top pick, they are all S tier in their own way. Rarely do I encounter a visual novel where I like everyone, even the mini routes were entertaining. So yeah, absolutely pick this up and do not forget the free patch.
