It's an incredibly simple simulation, but there's enough to keep me entertained at the very least. I love the games inclusion of a dynasty system, even with how primitive as it is; it's quite fun to follow the tale of a dynasty that rises from nothing and ends up becoming the imperial family of some backwater enclave in the galactic hegemon. Honestly thinking about it why aren't there more games about dynasties in a scifi setting....

Awesome game. Wish there were some more mechanics like sexes for characters so that they can have mothers and fathers instead of being descended from one person.

Just a fun simple game. Consider it the poor mans Stellaris, one that you dont need to dedicate hours after hours just trying to understand simple mechanics and can run this and build a story in your head. My classic is the Roman Empire reaching the stars and hoping to see them to succeed.

I played an earlier version of this before it got onto Steam. Since then, it has received some updates as recently as a few years ago, but it seems it is now, more or less, in its final state. Given that, can I confidently say this game is worth playing? Well, yes! I think I can! Galimulator is what it says on the tin: a galaxy simulator. You can interact with the galaxy by taking control of emergent factions; through editing or adjusting various names, traits, etc; and/or by unleashing cosmic horrors and other crises upon your cosmic subjects. Ultimately, though, you are merely an observer. This game is, essentially, a simplified and accessible version of those AI battle royales for games like 'Stellaris' where most of the fun comes from watching the history unfold before your eyes, and logging the procedural lore that creates. The only issue with this is that sometimes it is hard to actually tell what all is happening. Sure, I can see the red guys are taking over the green guys, but what is actually happening? Well, there are a lot of menus and other detail panels to explain things, but its up to you to actually go down and look at it. Further, while there are ships and things flying around, zapping each other and the like, the design of the game remains fairly simple and while, logically, there would be millions of vessels zipping around your galaxy, you will only see maybe a few hundred or some thousands on screen at any time and it is hard to say what some of them are doing at any given moment. Ultimately, while elements of this can be hard to read at times and [can be overwhelming, I think it ultimately just comes down to familiarity. If nothing else, you can just watch blobs of color take over other blobs of color on your desktop as a sort of living screensaver, and even earn a few achievements as you do so. Value will vary from user to user, but if you are a fan of these sorts of idle games, you can certainly do worse for the price, and if you see it on sale perhaps you should give it a shot. I think this is well worth checking out!
