This is a really bittersweet thumbs up. I actually love this game so much, it's so sick and is everything that Sonic could have been and more. Fast and fluid and tactile and offers a lot of nuance in playstyle choice moment-to-moment. Struggling to say anything bad about Haste. But, I'm super disappointed by the small and final scope of the game. The story was cute and delightful and the endless mode is nice, but that's kinda all there is? I was genuinely sad when devs announced that they aren't planning content updates or anything for this game. I could happily sink hundreds of hours into this if there was content to mash on. Really hoping that either the devs change their mind and drop DLCs for this, or the modding community picks up the slack, or something. Anything. I just really really really want so much more Haste than what's on offer. Right now I feel like I just hit things off with my dream girl only to find out she's leaving town in a week.
I'll be honest, I seen this game in those YouTube shorts that are aimed at people who can't watch a video without constant movement on screen. After searching for the game I found it and bought it immediately, can't deny it's one of the most fun games to play on Steam Deck.
