Note: There are some difficulty spikes near the end. Steam Deck Compatibility: Yes The game feels as if the Team Fortress 2 Medic, Moria (Overwatch/Overwatch 2), and Mantis (Marvel Rivals) got bored one day and decided to make a single player RPG game. 'Healer's Quest' is also like 'DLC Quest', it makes fun and makes a parody/satire about the good, bad, and ugly of the video game industry and gaming culture, mainly the mmorpg (and honorable mention, hero shooters) side of things. Ya play as the healer, who is in the worst party (as in worse case scenario, all team members are like horrible morons), and must save the day from evil. Despite that her teammates are narcissistic annoying imbeciles. Review: I recommend the game for the ultimate healer experience, even though it's a singleplayer game. Plus, 'Healer's Quest' has an unique concept that I see rarely done in video games, playing as the healer/medic and experiencing their woes and joys. Achievement Hunter Notes: The game can get a bit grindy. Mainly concerning some of the achievements (like "Search For Power" and "New Power Unlocked."). Cards: 1 foil badge, 5 badges, 7 cards, 5 emoticons, and 6 backgrounds.

Healer's Quest is a short and 'sweet' RTS that 98% of the time doesn't take itself seriously. You are the healer of a team of adventurers in a typical medieval RPG setting. They do all the attacking, and it's up to you to keep them alive. There are probably two major aspects of this game; the gameplay and the dialogues. The gameplay i suppose can be separated into two halves; the actual battles, and the build management. For the management side, it's very fun and surprisingly deep. You can customise your healer's build quite extensively, and can steer your party members into certain directions as well. That said, it's never overwhelming either; I'd say the management is perfect as it is. Since the game is relatively short and there are a few difficulty customisation options as well, you could probably get a lot of replayability off of this game if you're into replays. As for the combat, it's time-based, so you need to react in time to each team member's individual health depletion and status conditions, and to the enemy attacks, all while conserving and replenishing your magic levels, which are expended as you cast. It can get a bit chaotic at times when you occasionally face an onslaught. I thought it was fun, but i could understand if someone thought it got old quickly. Thankfully, there are plenty of build options to shake things up with. Being someone who hasn't really used keyboard controls before i did struggle with that during battles to begin with, but got a bit more used to it towards the end (still occasionally having to look for the '4' key though!). Also i'll just say here, the first spell, 'Heal', is really awkward to use; don't drop the game over this, bear with it and you'll very quickly have a far better replacement. Also, since i know someone's wondering, there is no mandatory grinding. If you're stuck you probably just need to rethink your spells or equipment. As for the dialogues, which are a significant portion of the game and what give it such a strong... identity; i feel like this is would ruin the game for some people, though i liked them fine personally. The very concept of a fourth wall is completely alien to this game as the characters end up showing full self awareness of their roles as RPG protagonists at some point during most conversations. Certain characters also use a lot of gaming and early (thankfully not modern) internet vocabulary. Also, i hope you can laugh at yourself; your party members will belittle you (and eachother) at every opportunity. If you don't mind all of that and don't take it too seriously, you'll have a great time. Speaking of the party members, they're all great characters! The soundtrack is pretty good as well! Incase someone's wondering, the game is very linear but there is room for a bit of exploration here and there. If i didn't mention something, i believe it's because there's not really much to say about it (or that i don't want to spoil anything). In the end, i had a great 15 hours with this game, and i'd very much recommend it! It's got a lot of character with some great dialogue, and the mechanics have depth and allow for a lot of replayability.

As someone who enjoys playing as a support/healer class in most games I play, this is a very enjoyable game. It has a lot of meta humor and some 4th wall breaks, which adds to its charm. The music is pleasant and enjoyable while reminding me of Crash Bandicoot. The builds you can make a lot of different builds, however I'd recommend heal, remedy, shield, and meditate with focus mostly mana regen (meditate) and passive resistances (remedy). Graphics are nicely stylized and also pleasant. I do have two complaints for the game. First one being that there's no fast travel or a map for the over-world. It makes it difficult to track down any hidden treasure chests and finding certain locations. Not to mention, without fast travel for places you've already been too, makes walking there take a LONG time. Its understandable if the quest is at a previous location, so it makes sense needing to walk to that location, but could do with at least a teleport near it. While the map may be small, my biggest complaint for the game is that encounters happen very frequent and in about every 4-5 steps your take, making encounters overly abundant. This is the reason I ask for fast travel in the game. Sure you can flee each encounter, but I do wish for a more immediate fleeing options especially if I just wanna reach a certain location right away. Would be nice to have a ring for late game that helps avoid random encounters so players can travel to locations. Obviously story related encounters or encounters with cutscene should still happen to provide players with context and content, just random encounters in the over-world become annoying after a while, especially in sections requiring long walks, which feel like padding. Overall, I feel like the game is a solid 8/10, a good game for those like to see their teammates numbers go up and a fun little story.
