Definetly more focused on the gameplay than the first, i pretty much banged my head on the wall the first 2 hours but then just realised i had to use my brain to win the fights (even though in the middle of the game you get bombarded by enemies that feel unfair, you just have to either grind stats a bit or look for the right items to win). Controlling wayne feels a bit janky at the start but when you get used to the dash you get really early on you can feel like an f1 formula speeding around the maps. The best part was definetly the artstyle. You feel so much emotion even if you dont really understand them, and the ost at times was so good i just wanted to sit back and listen to it for a good while. Honestly i was sometimes pretty frustrated at the game but when it all came to a close i immediately missed what i went through. Basically, a more complete Hylics. Very worth the price.

Hylics as a series can be very difficult to recommend. Artistically incredible, unfortunately its let down by a lot of frustrating game play, in the form of wonky platforming, often overwhelming combat, and confusing directions. Can be easy to get lost, and flattened by a gank squad of enemies that all outclass you. Let's not talk about the sage dungeon. That all said, personally, I'm able to look past a lot of it since its one of the most striking looking and sounding games I've played. It's clear from the get-go that there's been a lot of love and hard work put into crafting the game's visuals, and the soundtrack to match. There are so many crazy character designs here, without even mentioning the spell animations (all claymation!!!!). Every track that plays in this had me intrigued, hyped, or uncomfortable. If you like the style, play with a guide, and check out Absent Moon after. Hoping one day I can create something a sliver as cool as Hylics 2.

Definitely one of the most visually interesting games I've ever played with some really good music. Really hope we get Hylics 3 9/10 would recommend
