It's less of a "haunted game" and more of an Escape Room with a game in it. Or maybe an Escape Corridor: a long, linear string of Escape Room style puzzles. Pretty much everything is a clue or somehow related to progressing: this means no real environmental storytelling, and minimal story and lore. And honestly, that's all right. The puzzles' difficulty was on the lower side, a little too easy at times - although some I found frustrating. Don't be afraid to use the Hint system: it's a nice one, giving you ideas piecemeal before just straight out telling you what to do. Although this part is best experienced yourself. The story leaves a lot unsaid - but it says enough to get the gist of it, understand the who, the what and the why. I wish there was more. That's my main problem with pure Escape Room style games - since everything needs to be related to the puzzles, there's not much room for story. That said, I was generally satisfied on that front. Overall, the game might be a little forgettable; but it manages to keep you curious. What's behind this door? How do I open this chest? Everything is very compact, there's pretty much no padding whatsoever, so you just slide through the entire thing; before you know it, bam, end of the game. But that's a good thing! Keeps you going. Seems like a lot of people have had a similar experience. There are 3 endings, all of which happen more or less at the same point. The achievement stats for them are 64%, 56% and 40%. Those are excellent numbers (even for a 3 hour game), and they probably tell you all you need to know. This game is wonderful! I missed Inscryption-style games, and this one fills that void! The entire setting, puzzles, challenges, and strange things that happen mid-game are all very well done. Even though I struggled at the end of the boss battle, it didn't take away my desire to play the entire battle again. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Escape 60-style games with a horror twist. For those who are curious, the bug was that after defeating the final boss, I clicked on the monitor immediately afterward. But because I clicked too quickly between dialogues, the monitor went dark, and there was nothing else to do. I had to reload the game. https://youtu.be/l0C757dgnm0?t=813

This is a pretty simple and short game, but I really enjoyed it. It has all the components of an epic game just shrunk down: a setting that you will thoroughly explore, puzzles, boss "fights," and even meta puzzles and secret endings. The puzzles aren't too hard, although there were a couple times where I felt totally stuck and was wandering around trying to interact with everything. I eventually worked my way out of those situations without puzzles and it wouldn't last for too long. Overall I found the puzzles very satisfying and straightforward. The boss "fights" are definitely the weak point. You have to react pretty quickly to get into safe areas that may be a distance away, so dying in those feels kind of cheap. The final boss fights were a little cooler due to some twists I won't reveal. The writing is only OK and the endings are pretty abrupt, but I didn't feel cheated at the end at all. The fun is in the puzzling and discovery, not the endings.

A unique escape game experience ! The puzzles are brilliant, blending two worlds: a pixel virtual game on a vintage computer, and a mysterious cabin in a forest. Actions in the pc game directly affect the environment in the cabin, creating a clever play between the two settings. Some puzzles are challenging and may tempt you to use the hint system, while others are very easy, almost to the point where I questioned whether they were a trap because the answers felt too obvious. Fights can be easy if you're quick to think, but it can also be challenging if you give in to pressure because of the stressful and intense athmosphere. Despite the "horror" tag, the horror elements are minimal, nearly nonexistent, so don't expect a scary experience. The game is short, with 3 different endings it takes from 3 to 4 hours to complete, but in my opinion, it’s absolutely worth the price. It's also very easy to get 100% achievements. If you're aiming for them, keep in mind that some are missable, and unfortunately, there's no manual save option since the game saves automatically. If you’re a fan of escape room games, this one is definitely worth checking out!

Inscryption if it was a dungeon crawler instead of a deckbuilder This is peak video game design. Atmospheric and immersive world. Immensely fun, clever, but not too hard puzzles makes this a smooth and seamless escape room experience you should NOT miss! Thinking outside of the box in a META level is the core gameplay loop, so keep an eye out for your surroundings at all times. If you have enjoyed Inscryption, this game is a MUST play! Do not let yourself be tempted by the shining gold, follow the crimson flame!
