April 2026
I don't normally review games until I've played a significant enough portion to see all or most of what there is to offer, but I'll make an exception in this case because some of the negative reviews are misleading. Some of those reviews criticize the game for being repetitive or lacking content but this is not accurate. There a multiple levels and each level brings with it variations and added challenges. Plus, there is meta-progression as you move through the game. There is a story that opens up as you play and seems to take the game into some interesting areas. Finally, rather than being limited and boring, the gameplay is actually tense and engaging. You have to kill the imposter but you have limited tools as your disposal. This is not a run and gun game. You have to track down the imposter and work through tricks and obstacles that make more difficult with each level. It's like the movie The Thing. It's very fun and often times frightening. It is a very good game and there's plenty here for the price. Disregard the negative reviews.

Ignore the reviews with less than 1 hour, they didn't even play the game before judging. This game is awesome, ever increasing in difficulty, and most importantly super replayable. If not for the singleplayer mode, the multiplayer mode has a way for you to play with your friends. I had a blast, and the story isn't shakespeare but its still neat and leaves you wanting to continue and learn more about the world.

This game intrigued me by the mimic horror genre and id say the mimic factor and Ai is like a 6/10 currently during early access. For instance the Ai is very recognizable and once you get the hang of it the game becomes extremely easy but this is mainly since you can literally sit in a corner and if you look at yourself once, it will take like 3 minutes and its a free win. Is that fun? No. Not in the slightest, but I feel it should not be a viable strategy to win the game. But, the Ai does feel somewhat like the others in terms of how they walk and what happens when you aim a gun at their face but also they are SO slow that the main way I die is due to me opening a weapon box or if im running through a crowd. This however I can see being fixed easy and it does not take away from the game entirely and is still pretty fun. The game can feel quite repetitive at times where its just constant same old same old, (Please make the find the mirror modifier a base game thing not a modifier) though the modifiers do make it a little more breathable. You may be reading this and see that it is all negative but thats just because ive not talked about the good! The games maps are really nice and feel very interactive and or alive and I love the artstyle of glass breaking with the clicking buttons thingy. The mimics do drive some tension when you see them but dont have anything to fight back with which is a breath of fresh air as it gives tension instead of a cheap jump scare as many horror games do. The whole game also feels very short but I think most my points WILL be changed once it is updated and worked on - I see a lot of potential. In all, the game has its flaws, but it can still be a fun game to simply pick up and play for a weekend with lots to see for the future! (:

Ubisoft didn't know what to do with old Assassins Creed multiplayer mode, but this game does :) It has great atmosphere and a lot of potential.

After playing and reviewing the demo on May 14, I am pleased to finally see It Has My Face release into early access! At the time I was uncertain if the game was going to see the light of day because Steam listed the demo release date as 2023, but the devs responded and informed me the build I played was recent. Not only is the game as awesome now as it was 4 months ago, but to my surprise there is multiplayer! Where's Waldo meets Hitman with a sprinkle of Us. The pixel art style isn't something I'd normally associate with fear, but the paranoia of finding a weapon while you're being hunted by your clone must be experienced. For such a simple concept, the depth of the upgrade tree is rewarding and engaging. There's enough story wise to keep you going and the gameplay loop doesn't disappoint. I'd hope to see matchmaking in the future and workshop support (fingers crossed). Very optimistic and excited for what comes next. It Has My Face takes an interesting idea and executes in a way that I hope continues to expand and flourish throughout early access. If you're even remotely interested in having a good time don't let this one pass you by.
