incredible game to remind people they're not alone in their struggles. returning after a few years and the community is still so warm and compassionate, truly a safe space to let your thoughts drift away into the pink void and remind yourself you're not the only one struggling, and that you, too, are worthy of kind words in spite of hardship. i love that all my old notes and their responses are still there-- it shows me not only how much i've grown, but how strong and resilient i am. everyone deserves to be heard, even if its through anonymous submissions into the void. your words have impact here, even if it doesn't feel like it. when you respond to people with kindness and empathy, or by sharing your experience/views, it really does impact them. just take it from me. if you're ever struggling, or don't know who to talk to and need something off your chest, there isn't a better game i could recommend (except maybe the 2nd one, i still have to check it out though :P)

great game, i've gotten a lot of genuinely thoughtful and amazing letters from complete strangers. this whole community is supportive, and despite the limiting length of words you're allowed to write with, people here do want to bring you kindness and offer help in their own way. kinda bittersweet knowing i'll never get to know these people, but it really helps immerse you in the idea of taking joy in simple pleasures, no matter how brief and fleeing they are. i will always cherish the letters i've received from strangers on this game, the brief moments of connection i've had with them.

"Kind Words" isn't a game so much, as its an messaging app designed to encourage niceness. And it works well. You can request messages by making a post (something like "I am down because my gf broke up with me") or you can browse current requests and respond to them. Posts are limited to 7 lines and replies to 14. Its all anonymous and you can only ever send one message. The setup makes it impossible to form relationships or really get to know other users, but it does do a great job of fostering a community of strangers. Also whatever they have working behind the scenes keeps spam and/or mean posts out. The "game" part is collecting stickers that decorate your room. You start with one and can send them with any reply you write and also give them as thanks for replies. Over time you collect quite a few. Also, while initially you have very few songs unlocked, you unlock an additional one for every day you write something. Your little avatar will sit in a cute and cozy little room writing messages and listening to music. Like I said, its not really a game, but its still executes its premise well. All the little restrictions plus whatever they do on the backend, have kept my experience at least, very, very pleasant. I never saw any bad responses and I've never had any problems getting wrongfully flagged or something. The music selection is a bit limited, especially at the start, but that gets better with time. Plus, you are not supposed to play this hours a day, more like half an hour every day. End result is that its a fun and wholesome thing to do on the regular. There is a nice solidarity in knowing people are struggling with similar things and its nice to get positive messages about. If you are down about anything, or even just want to get out of your head a bit, get "Kind Words"
