After the first 2 this is going to blind side you like a train, it certainly feels like there has been a dip in quality when it comes to visuals and it's hard to tell if that's intentional or not. The first game in the series where you should give it 3 or 4 levels before you pass judgement as it is wildly different too the first games. Still good, still the bones of what made the first games good but it will take a while to get into. The maps are more interactive and the new towers and powers are fun, but you need to work with this game and understand it sits in a different category to the first 2.

The third installment in the Kingdom Rush series and what is considered by many to be their favorite game in the genre, Kingdom Rush returns better than ever. The gameplay is similar to the previous games with the difference that the towers are much more specialized and cover their own niches, making the player consider twice before upgrading a level 3 tower to a specialized one. In addition, rain of fire has been replaced with lightning strikes which is arguably even more powerful and you now have access to a third spell that changes its function depending on your hero. The game pays a little more attention to its story this time around and has this mystical fantasy aesthetic that is very welcome as it focuses more on the elves and their battles in a brand new continent. As per usual, the steam edition is the definitive edition of the game giving you access to all heroes, but much like the first game it doesn't have the endless stages that are available in the mobile versions. Satisfying strategic tower defense gameplay coupled with spell and unit micromanagement, fun heroes to play around with that are more impactful than ever, aesthetically pleasant handrawn levels full of easter eggs and references adding to this game's charm, if you are a fan of the Kingdom Rush series or you'd like to try out a simple yet seriously fun tower defense game, give Kingdom Rush Origins a shot

I’ve completely finished Kingdom Rush Origins, and I like it! The gameplay is great from start to finish, with a lot of strategic depth and fun tower combinations. The story and art style are good, the most liked and used character was Veznan — he’s such a powerful and mage and after story campgain he become a main villian!
