100% Achievement Review: A quick review based on my experience completing all the (available) achievements. [url=https://store.steampowered.com/curator/45897386/] Feel free to follow my curator for more 100% reviews! Title: Kingdom Rush Origins Summary: Fantasy tower defense game Personal notes: Kingdom Rush Origins is the third installement in the series despite being a prequel to the first game. Once again you are tasked with defending against waves of enemies across various locations through strategically placing and upgrading towers. The core gameplay remains the same, you still use the same four tower styles. Those being barracks, archers, magic, and artillery. The gameplay is still the highlight and is easily the strongest part of the game. Managing new and cool towers/heroes all with unique traits while reacting to new enemy types on new levels keeps the classic formula exciting. Talking about levels, I feel like the level design overall has improved once again making it feel more complex but rewarding. Some levels, especially the challenge levels were quite difficult but still felt pretty fair. Visually this game improves upon the previous entries which already look really solid. The environments look great and detailed while retaining the classic kingdom rush look and the animations feel more smooth than ever. The audio is also strong. The soundtrack fits the fantasy setting perfectly despite becoming a tad repetitive after countless hours. In addition, the sound effects feel proper and satisfying and helps give characters personality. All of these updates and changes make the overall presentation feel well done. The only downside I can think of in this game is how similiar it is to the last two. The new towers, heroes and levels do help keep things feeling new but the core gameplay is essentially identical across the series so if you are looking for something different this isn't it. Achievement wise this game is pretty straightforward but fairly time consuming just like the other Kingdom Rush games lol. I listed some of the more difficult achievements below such as throwing 1000 nuts! But, if you know what you are going for and have a proper strategy/tower selection you should be able to complete it. All things considered I once again had a great time. Kingdom Rush Origins is another very solid entry in this tower defense series and the genre in general. While it doesn't reinvent much, the fun classic gameplay, great level/sound/world design mixed with a ton of new enemies and towers make it an easy recommendation for any Kingdom Rush or Tower Defense fan alike. Time it took to complete: 31hrs Most difficult achievement(s): - Peerless Defender (Complete the Campaign in Impossible difficulty.) - No Pain, No Gain (Deal over 100,000 damage with Sylvan Curses.) - Wildfire harvest (Throw 1,000 burning nuts.) Difficulty rating: ★★★★★★☆☆☆☆ 6/10 Overall rating: ★★★★★★★★★☆ 9/10

TLDR: The same reliable tower defense formula, now with less content than its predecessor. New maps are fun, but removing endless mode while adding nothing new makes this the weakest entry yet. PROS: ➕Good classic TD gameplay CONS: ➖Lacks any innovation from prior entries ➖Removed endless mode/leaderboards ➖Still lacks stats like tower info/usage/DPS My reviews for the previous Kingdom Rush games can be found here: [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/Synikx/recommended/246420?snr=1_5_9__402]Kingdom Rush (KR1) [url=https://steamcommunity.com/id/Synikx/recommended/458710?snr=1_5_9__402]Kingdom Rush Frontiers (KRF) Content (Game world/Narrative) – Being that this is the 3rd KR game, you should know what to expect here. This doesn’t change up the formula at all for how the game world is, just a different setting of the more elven themed. Same narrative formula - stop the big bads. Gameplay (Mechanics/Difficulty) – Same formula here, same 4 towers, just with different final tiers to shake things up. Endless mode and leaderboards have been removed. :( Heroes follow the same progression system as Frontiers. Really about it. Slight changes that you may expect with a new game, but it’s largely the same formula. The difficulty feels a little toned down from Frontiers. I didn’t find myself getting obliterated as much. In this version though, the difficulty seems to be countering tons of swift or flying things from getting past your defenses. The “Dogs” in this game are particularly annoying as they straight up run past your guards. There’s also a flying unit that duplicates multiple times, often creating a slow massive floating army that can be annoying to take down. Graphics (Quality/Technical) – Same as other games, graphics are fine here. Perhaps a tad bit more vibrant. No technical issues or bugs. 1440p @ 240hz | installed on SSD Audio – Same, no differences here. Replay Factor (Longevity) – The removal of endless maps feels a bit bad, so the replay value goes down from Frontiers. Otherwise, same. Final Verdict – Kingdom Rush Origins (KRO) is the 3rd game in the Kingdom Rush series. Origins stays true to the established formula of the KR series by not changing much, in fact, it takes things away. While not the biggest thing, both of the Endless maps from Frontiers, and by extension any leaderboards, are gone. So, of all the KR games so far, Origins offers the slimmest amount of content by far. You’ll find a typical ~8 hour campaign with the usual post-campaign maps and the optional Heroic/Iron runs. The hero progression is the same as Frontiers, and I still like how you can use the hero on Heroic/Iron levels. Really though, being the 3rd game of the popular series, I’d have liked to see some innovation. Instead, we get less than ever before. So while I am disappointed in Origins, it’s still a solid entry with the good TD mechanics. If you buy this game, it’s purely for the new maps, just don’t expect anything different with the formula. Overall, I do recommend KRO, but I do wish the games were expanded beyond its cozy mobile nest and take some risks, add new things. I’m dying for a stats page over here. Being that this is the 3rd game of the series I’ve played, I would order them as such, from most to least favorite: Frontiers KR1 Origins Recommend? (Price) [Y/N] Yes $15 is a bit steep, but I can see getting 15 hours of gameplay if you do the optional content. Historical low is at $6, which is the perfect price point. After the first 2 this is going to blind side you like a train, it certainly feels like there has been a dip in quality when it comes to visuals and it's hard to tell if that's intentional or not. The first game in the series where you should give it 3 or 4 levels before you pass judgement as it is wildly different too the first games. Still good, still the bones of what made the first games good but it will take a while to get into. The maps are more interactive and the new towers and powers are fun, but you need to work with this game and understand it sits in a different category to the first 2.

I’ve completely finished Kingdom Rush Origins, and I like it! The gameplay is great from start to finish, with a lot of strategic depth and fun tower combinations. The story and art style are good, the most liked and used character was Veznan — he’s such a powerful and mage and after story campgain he become a main villian! Overall, Kingdom Rush Origins is a good experience that I enjoyed. ---{ Graphics }--- ☐ You forget what reality is ☐ Masterpiece ☐ Beautiful ☐ Great but not perfect ☑ Good ☐ Decent ☐ Bad ☐ Don’t look too long at it ☐ Retro vibes / Pixel charm ---{ Gameplay }--- ☐ Peak innovation ☐ Very good ☑ Good ☐ Average ☐ Basic ☐ Boring ☐ Watch paint dry instead ☐ Broken mess ☐ Does the game even play itself? ---{ Audio }--- ☐ Eargasm ☐ Amazing soundtrack & effects ☑ Very good ☐ Good ☐ Okay, nothing special ☐ Below average ☐ Bad ☐ I’m now deaf ---{ Audience }--- ☑ Kids ☑ Teens ☑ Adults ☐ Grandma ---{ PC Requirements }--- ☑ Check if you can run Paint ☐ Potato-friendly ☐ Mid-range setup ☐ Decent rig needed ☐ Fast gaming PC ☐ Rich boi specs ☐ Ask NASA if they have a spare computer ---{ Game Size }--- ☑ Tiny ☐ Small ☐ Old-fashioned ☐ Workable ☐ Big ☐ Will eat 10% of your 1TB hard drive ☐ Requires a dedicated SSD ☐ Invest in a black hole ---{ Difficulty }--- ☐ Just press W ☐ Very easy ☐ Easy ☐ Easy to learn / Hard to master ☑ Balanced difficulty ☐ Requires thinking ☐ Hard ☐ Painfully hard ☐ Dark Souls ☐ Keyboard-smashing simulator ---{ Grind }--- ☐ Zero grind ☑ Light grind, barely noticeable ☐ Only if you care about leaderboards ☐ Optional grinding ☐ Average grind level ☐ Feels endless sometimes ☐ Too much grind ☐ Second life required ☐ Infinite grind ---{ Story }--- ☐ No story ☐ Minimal lore, not important ☐ Some lore to spice it up ☐ Average ☑ Good ☐ Great ☐ Lovely ☐ Emotional rollercoaster ☐ Masterpiece ☐ Replaces your life ---{ Game Time }--- ☐ Coffee-break short ☐ Short ☑ Medium length ☐ Long ☐ Very long ☐ To infinity ---{ Price }--- ☐ It’s free! ☐ Amazing value for money ☐ Worth the price ☑ Fair if it’s on sale ☐ Only if you’ve got spare cash ☐ Not worth it ☐ Better burn your money ---{ Bugs / Stability }--- ☑ Never heard of bugs ☐ Minor, harmless bugs ☐ Occasionally annoying ☐ Frequent glitches ☐ Optimization dumpster fire ☐ ARK: Survival Evolved ☐ Game = bug terrarium ---{Game Type}--- ☐ Multiplayer ☐ Co-op ☑ Solo ---{ Modding Support }--- ☑ No mods allowed ☐ Minimal cosmetic mods ☐ Good modding tools ☐ Huge modding community ☐ Skyrim-level infinite mods ---{ Overall Rating }--- ☐1 — Uninstall immediately ☐2 — Painful ☐3 — Poor ☐4 — Mediocre ☐5 — Average ☐6 — Decent ☐7 — Good ☑8 — Great ☐9 — Excellent ☐10 — Masterpiece
