When I want to play a city builder, this is my main go-to. It has everything I want, and nothing I don't. There are supply chains, mutliple food types, defense/militant options, and decoration buffs, but packaged with simple elegance. It is eternal play, not round based. If you like a lot of variation in your building models, and multiple design options, it doesn't really have that I will say. Some of the garden/statue options are nice, but they are a handful at best. Still, I highly reccommend it for the gameplay, very few city-builders stike this nice a level of complexity that is easy to understand. I'm not spending most of my time in pages and alternate menus like a lot fo the genre.

Pros: You can build actual working castles with walls, gates, towers, and rain arrows on Viking boats like you’re in a movie. Plus the devs never quit – they’re still dropping free updates years later, which is wild. Cons: you kinda see everything the game has to offer in one or two runs. It’s not some 500-hour monster. You build, you defend, you probably die to fire, you start over. But honestly? Starting over is half the fun. For the price of Brunch you get a kingdom to rule and a 90% chance to watch it burn. It’s cozy, chaotic, and weirdly addictive. Not a hardcore strategy brain-burner, more like “I’ll just play 20 minutes” and then it’s 2am. If you like cute games that suddenly get stressful, this is your thing. Go be king. Just… build some wells first. Trust me.

Each run is fun for a maybe 8 hours, but late game gets stale pretty quick. Lack of long term progression.

Good game for its price. It's one of those rare indies that actually got finished and wasnt overdeveloped or milked with micro-transactions/dlcs.
