Dec. 2025
I really enjoy Kitaria Fables. It’s a charming game with a great atmosphere, fun combat, and a world that has a lot of potential. You can clearly see the heart behind the project, and with some polish, it could become something truly special. However, several mechanical issues make the experience feel a bit premature, and addressing them would dramatically improve the game. • Loading screens & world traversal One of the biggest problems is the excessive number of loading screens, especially considering how small the areas are. The world is divided into many tiny zones, and moving between them constantly becomes frustrating instead of enjoyable. • Co-op limitations Co-op has great potential but suffers from a few key issues. Player 2 is permanently anchored to Player 1, making it impossible to move or escape when the first player dies, especially in enemy-dense areas. There’s also no real resurrection mechanic, and reviving outside of combat takes far too long. • Storage/Stash system The idea of having stashes across the world is great, but because storage isn’t shared, they end up causing more inconvenience than help. ⭐ Conclusion Despite these issues, I genuinely like Kitaria Fables. It has a strong foundation, great charm, and potential. However, in its current state, the game still feels a bit premature, and the mechanical problems hold back what could otherwise be an amazing experience. Because of this, I believe the game is only truly worth it when purchased at a discount. At full price, it feels too expensive for what it currently offers, especially considering the limitations in exploration, co-op, and quality-of-life features.

Kitaria Fables blends action RPG combat with light farming and crafting in a colorful, animal-populated world. The game casts you as Nyanza, a feline soldier sent to protect Paw Village from rising monsters. The premise is simple and approachable, aiming for a relaxing experience rather than a complex narrative. The visual presentation is one of the game’s main strengths. Environments are bright and friendly, with clean textures and cheerful lighting that create a warm atmosphere. Character designs are cute and expressive, and the overall art direction supports the game’s cozy tone. While technically modest, it delivers consistent charm. Combat takes place in real time, with dodging, spellcasting, and melee attacks forming the core of the system. Encounters are straightforward but enjoyable, and enemies telegraph their attacks clearly. The difficulty curve is gentle, though some bosses require careful timing. The combat loop works best when players switch between spells and weapons to find their preferred style. Farming and crafting serve as supporting mechanics rather than deep systems. Players plant crops, gather materials, and forge equipment to improve their combat abilities. These tasks provide a pleasant change of pace, though they lack the complexity seen in more dedicated farming sims. The routine remains satisfying for players seeking low-pressure progression. Exploration is structured around small, interconnected zones with clear paths and resource nodes. The world encourages periodic backtracking as new gear unlocks access to tougher areas. Although the map is compact, the constant flow of quests and materials gives players reasons to revisit locations without feeling repetitive too quickly. The story is simple and serviceable, driven mostly by local requests and small mysteries around the growing monster threat. Dialogue is lighthearted, and characters maintain a friendly tone that matches the visuals. While the plot rarely surprises, it supports the relaxing gameplay loop effectively and avoids unnecessary drama. Overall, Kitaria Fables offers a gentle blend of action, farming, and exploration suited for players who want something approachable and charming. It lacks the depth of larger RPGs or farming simulators, but its warmth, simplicity, and steady progression make it a pleasant experience. For those seeking a low-stress adventure in a cute fantasy world, it accomplishes its goals well.

Fun game where you play as a cat that farms, helps townsfolk, casts magic, and fights enemies. similar to Rune Factory, but furry. It does appear there was supposed to be more to the game at some point, there's a number of cave entrances and doorways that lead nowhere. I hope one day the devs add some more to the game.

A nice mashup of Fantasy Life and Animal Crossing simplified. A pleasant level of character customization, cute and easy to agro enemies that will make for funny moments. No annoying hand holding, you can explore and find secrets and nooks on your own time and leisure. I hope the team keeps making games and improving further.
