TL; DR teaser to a Twin Peaks -inspired survival horror title. Lake Haven – Chrysalis is about a detective and the mission person case that changed the trajectory of his life. This is a teaser, a prologue, a demo, whatever you prefer for a game that is not out, it is literally an hour or so, therefore it is pointless to discuss the story any further. Chrysalis is great for what it is, it has tons of atmosphere, (fixed) camerawork used correctly, and it makes me excited for what is to come. This game with its PS1-graphics, disturbing soundscape, perspective-limiting camera angles, is legitimately pretty creepy, it made me stop in my tracks, because I got chills, so how could I not be excited for the butterfly that they are making?

This is a little prologue for the upcoming game "lake haven". It's been out for two years as of now and I'm not sure what is going on with the game. This is very good. It's around 90 or so minutes long. Another nostalgia trip and done very well. Silent hill-esque for sure. From menu sounds to music. Tank controls, fixed camera. It's all here. The prologue is essentially fetching items and solving puzzles. The story seems like it could well go somewhere very interesting. It sets things up nicely but I must ask, is this game going to be released? I cannot find any updates. I really hope we do get a full release it has much potential.

Like a needle in a haystack, this game is a gem among the plethora of 90s recreated survival horror games that have come out in recent times. A short yet gripping story with familiar tank controls and puzzles reminiscent of classic horror games, this game hits -- and it hits hard. The fact that this is a prequel with the main game in development pleases me greatly considering how gripping this short masterpiece was. However, I hope to hear something soon since steam achievements were promised almost two years ago and there is still no news to my knowledge of a sequel. I hope this game doesn't fall through, I'm begging to know more and to have more to play! If you're unable to find the big "Easter Egg" in this game that other people have mentioned. Then re-read my review again. Anyways, great game! I hope to hear something from the developers soon regarding a sequel!
