If you're used to fast paced VR games you're in for a bit of a shock with this one - after the first hour of playing me and a friend were both ready to return it based solely on how UNBEARABLY SLOW you move. My god it takes like 30 min to walk across the room, let alone up the hill and past a tree! Fortunately for the game we decided to give it another hour the following day since we didn't have much else to do and once the shock of just how slow the game plays wore off we did find that it has a lot going on. Here are some thoughts, in no particular order. The number and variety of weapons/gear/spells you can find/unlock is awesome and allows near complete freedom in choosing a play style that works for you - this is probably the games strongest point imo. The Goblins suck as an early enemy type to encounter, they are so short it's hard to hit them with most weapons (think oddjob from goldeneye). The inventory system is clunky but once you figure out how to put items in your bag from the ground (point at them and thumbstick-down on primary hand) it becomes slightly more bearable - changing weapons is also pretty clunky, but doable. The quest system is very basic and often leaves us scratching our heads trying to remember where to go to complete / turn-in a quest. The item drop 'crystals' seem like a 'vr gimmick', doesn't really add to the experience imo. I use the Index and have dropped my weapon/shield/bow in combat far to many times - it would be a big usability improvement if they would automatically return to holsters even if it's not as 'realistic'. We have encountered a fair number of bugs ranging from minor (items yeeting themselves when dropping - or falling through the floor) to a bit more frustrating (unable to recover gear after dying due to a ledge blocking the sword from being pulled upwards, unable to climb up ladders) but none that were game breaking or persisted after a restart. We haven't quite gotten there yet but it looks like you do eventually unlock higher movement speed through the game's skill trees which is something we're both really looking forward to (edit: turns out, no, that's only while 'hidden' aka crouching) The price is noteworthy, it's easy to see why some reviews here are so negative given the above vs the expectations a AAA price tag sets. We got it on sale (~$35 I think) and I don't know if I'd be as forgiving / have good things to say either if we had paid full price for it - but we didn't, and for what we paid we're having a good enough experience. If you've played Dungeons of Eternity before this game will initially feel like a step backwards, but they really only share aesthetics / are completely different types of games and should be compared with caution. That said, if you're good with the bow in Eternity the bow in this game will feel quite natural. In summary, this game feels like a throw-back to classic dungeon crawlers in the vein of Dungeon Siege that's hampered a bit by the slow movement and clunky UI - but makes up for it by giving the player a lot of freedom to explore and arm themselves however they see fit. I don't think everyone who plays VR will appreciate what this game has to offer, but for those who like classic crawlers this is the truest-to-form VR experience I've yet encountered.

Legendary Tales: A Game Worth Your Time, But Not Your Wallet Legendary Tales delivers a truly captivating experience with a combat system that's as satisfying as it is accurate. Every strike, block, and dodge feels well-timed and weighty, with mechanics that cater to both seasoned veterans and newcomers alike. Whether you're in the thick of battle or executing a well-placed counterattack, the combat in Legendary Tales shines with precision, making each encounter feel rewarding. It's not just about button mashing—timing and strategy matter, adding an extra layer of depth that keeps you coming back for more. The magic system, meanwhile, is expansive and thoughtfully designed. Spells are varied and feel impactful, with a wide array of options that let players tailor their playstyle. Legendary Tales offers enough variety to keep things fresh. The way magic interacts with the environment and combat is impressively detailed, allowing you to experiment and find new ways to overcome challenges. The only real downside to Legendary Tales is its price. While the game delivers exceptional quality in both its combat and magic mechanics, the current price point may make some hesitant. Given the value provided, a more accessible price tag would feel more appropriate for the overall experience. I got lucky to buy it during a sale and its totally worth the $30 i dont think its worth more than that. Overall the game is really good and i have really enjoyed it so far!

This game can be really fun! But WARNING it is completely abandoned by the developers and has a fatal bug with reset points. If you have unsaved points and crash/exit before spending them you'll lose them forever making that character worthless. Not worth the full price... wait for a sale.
