I’ve been playing LEGO games since i was a child, so this one was a must. I loaded the game and immediately started committing vandalism for profit. You try to focus on the mission… and then you see a shiny thing in a wall, and suddenly the entire plot doesn’t matter anymore. Gotham is huge and fun to explore, but also dangerous because you WILL stop being Batman and start being a professional WayneTech collector. • you WILL ignore the main mission for 45 minutes because a Minikit/WayneTech is suspiciously hidden behind something stupid • you WILL accidentally destroy everything in a 2 mile radius while trying to be stealthy • you WILL question why Robin is actually the most useful person in Gotham • you WILL press the “replay level” button because you missed one collectible and your brain won’t let it go 10/10 — I came for Gotham and stayed for the studs.

I had only played one LEGO game before Lego Batman: The Videogame when it first came out in 2008 and since then I’ve never really cared about LEGO games at all. I’m a huge Batman fan, so I thought my new Steam Controller would be perfect to use with this game. I prefer games with challenging gameplay, complex combat systems, darker tones, and more serious storytelling. None of that really applies here, and yet the game completely hooked me. The gameplay is genuinely fun, and it feels like a huge love letter to many Batman movies, animated series, and games. If you love Batman or the Arkham games, I highly recommend it. The Deluxe Edition was completely worth it, and honestly, I’m even more interested in the September DLC, where we get to play as Joker, than in the base game itself. My biggest criticism is that there are way too many collectibles, and after a while it becomes pretty tedious and boring to run around trying to gather everything. (probably because it’s simply not challenging at all. you just run here, run there, that’s all)

Gotham Knights failed us. Suicide Kill the Justice League failed us. Lego, freaking lego, succeeded in bringing us a good Batman Arkham game. LEGO?! Are you serious?! Ofc LEGO Batman 1, 2, 3 were good, but this one... ITS GOTY. Everything that was in the DC universe related to Batman like, movies, games, comics is here now! Everything seems familiar to you, but its completely different and looks new. Ive spent a lot of time playing Batman Arkham Origins and Knight, and im a big fan of this series, and now im here, ty TT Games.

The fifth installment in the Arkham series is truly incredible. Yes I acknowledge and love Arkham Origins. No I will not acknowledge Suicide Squad KTJL. Please buy this game. Thank you.
