I think a lot of people are expecting this game to be something it isn't. It is extremely unique, and understandably not a lot of people's cup of tea, but I personally LOVE this game! Like I said, it's a unique concept. I've never played anything like this game before, and for me, that's really not a bad thing! The game is completely non stressful, but that doesnt necessarly mean its boring. I enjoy doing the little care tasks like feeding myself, bathing and all that. I SUPER love the way the grocery store works, where I can buy ingredients each week and make meals with them throughout the week. I love LIttle London and it's quirky characters, I love the weather system and that I have to dress properly for the temperature. I even like waiting for the stop lights to change! This game is leisure to the MAX. But that is something that I really value when I'm feeling stressed out. It's a game where I can just vibe and not have to think too hard about what I need to do, or worry about getting stuck during the main story. It's just super chill, and for me, that really works! I've been playing it all day, every day since I bought it and I'm only a little ways into the story because I'm just doing other little things. It feels nice and comfortable, and nothing is pushing me to do something before I feel like doing it. It's just living a life that isn't mine, and it's a perfect escape! I love this game. I get why others may not like it, but for someone who just likes to exist as a cute little character and do silly little chores, this game is PERFECT.

The game starts out really strong, but it didn't take long before I felt it suffered from trying to be two different games at once. One of those games promises an interesting life sim, where you go grocery shopping, cook, do the laundry, play chess in the park, buy a subscription to the gym or library and gradually increase all your skills. I loved the detail! Putting on the laundry overnight! Picking up loo roll from the store! The gameplay loop for this part of the game is compelling, and is mainly let down by your person being very happy and comfortable even with the starting furniture, food and entertainment, seeming to give little motivation to make money and buy anything other than for aesthetics. The other game layered on top, and what felt like the more pushy one, is what seems to be an endless series of fetch quests that have you running around the town from dawn until dusk. It is a LOT of walking. At first I thought these quests were a way of introducing me to the various shops and people, but they just kept going, and going, and I wasn't quite comfortable ignoring them in case there's a point to them. They wore me down. If you don't mind these kind of quests, then I don't think you'll get bored the way I did. I would prefer a quest system that mostly set you broader goals, to give you time and motivation to play the life sim part of the game rather than running endlessly back and forth between npcs. Bugs: Yes, found some of these. An inventory bug during the tutorial, and, when I reloaded the game from the main menu to try and fix it, another bug where my character was just a floating head with their hair slinking along on the ground beneath them. Both were luckily fixed by rebooting the game.

One of my favorite sim games ever made!! Please give this game a try yourself; Devs and staff are kind and quick to help or answer questions (They rescued my little sim & gave me gifts!). The game is fun to play casually and has seasonal events, items, quests. Creating/accessorizing your little sim is quite fun and I'm excited to see where I can take my character with this game because they update, add, and fix the game often since release. A+ + Art/style/mechanics of gameplay.

Definitely worth a try! I've had a lot of fun playing it so far as an early access game. Something very chill to play and pass the time.

I was really hesitant about buying the game, because all of the negative reviews.... BUT: I am glad I bought it anyway. I do not write many reviews.... but after playing the game for over 15 hours, I don't think the reviews are doing justice for this little gem. Is it flawless? No. Is it finished? No. Is there still space for improvement and more content? Yes. But nontheless, it is a lot of fun! I really lost track of time while playing. Suddenly I noticed, I was playing for hours and totally forgot about my real life laundry. I am not saying this game is perfect, or you can not criticize anything in it. But some of these reviews seem utterly harsh, which I do not think are justified. And a lot of them did not even play for an hour or two before giving it a thumbs down. The thing I would wish for in this game, is some mini games. For example fishing is a bit boring.... Some activities take a long time and all you can do is wait for your sim to finish them. Now you can study and get a diploma, but having a profession or part time jobs would also be a nice touch in my opinion. I am excited about what's more to come to this game! Remember, it still is in early access.
