Dear god yes. I found this treasure thanks to the ever inspiring ManlyBadassHero! I saw about 5 minutes of his video and bought it. This TREASURE TROVE of a game hasn't been able to leave my mind since I saw it, and now all I wanna do is explore every nook and cranny of it to find every... last... achievement. Thumbs Up! P.S: Look Outside. You won't coward.

I feel like this game is the best hidden gem of 2025. I hadn't really heard anything about it but saw a few streamers play it on release and thought it looked like a fun RPG to play in bed on my Steam Deck. Out of all the games I've bought and played this year, this is by far my favourite (as of posting this review). Gameplay: Pretty standard fare for an RPG maker game and an older style turn based RPG. You have your character and can equip various items to help in combat which is entirely turn based. Can level up to get various stat increases with certain levels granting new abilities and you can get a party of up to 4 (including you). Exploration of the game's world was always exciting, every new room led to helpful items or equipment that had a large impact on your character's strength or to very interesting lore that helped to explain what is going on in the games story a little more without giving too much away. Most fights were about killing the enemy before it does you, and I would say one negative of the gameplay is that by about half way in with a decent party the game got quite easy outside of some bosses but it wasn't a huge problem for me. Some boss fights had puzzle like elements to them such as beating certain parts before a certain amount of turns were over or certain items you found would do crazy damage to them. When I first started and saw that there was a set time limit to the game's story I was a little worried it would stress me out having to try to see everything before hitting it, but that wasn't the case. The timer is 15 in game days and I beat it while exploring everything (that I could tell anyway probably a lot more secrets to uncover) with 6 days left still, so you have plenty of time to explore at your own pace. If you have seen or played other games such as Fear and Hunger, this game is similar to that but way less brutal in both difficulty and themes. Story: The writing and dialogue for this game were absolutely great, I loved meeting all of the residents of the apartment block you are a part of and unravelling the mystery of what is happening to the world. You have a lot of situations during the game to make choices and a lot of games say that choices matter but in the end they actually don't. This game does this extremely well and I found myself having to put the game down for a bit to have a hard think about what I was about to do or say. You could have an entirely different party compared to the next person playing. Graphics: Very stylised pixel art that looks great, the artist(s) did an incredible job at making a very creepy atmosphere to explore that felt tense each time you got to a new area, especially with lower light and only being able to see a few steps in-front of you. The character and creature designs were equally beautiful and horrific and even the most normal looking people had an eerie vibe to them. The creature design goes HARD into body horror with references to classics such as The Thing, The Fly and a lot of Cronenburg's films which I adored. Sound: The OST for this game absolutely slaps, there's a few different battle themes, one that plays when you are underlevelled which I thought was a cool addition. There's many songs that over the past few days have been playing in my head on loop such as the shop theme. There's a lot of really well done atmospheric sounds that play at key moments to try to scare you but without trying to jump scare, music and noises build up to increase stress as if something or someone is chasing you or stalking you. Performance: This could run on pretty much any setup, very low system requirements and I had 0 issues playing this on my Steam Deck (which was 99% of my game time), battery would last 5 - 6 hours without any TDP or framerate changes. Only issue I had was that the game doesn't have controller support and the default Keyboard > Controller layout didn't include most buttons. This was very easily fixed by binding Spacebar to A, Right Click to B, Shift to Right Stick and Esc to Right Bumper. Conclusion: The devs have created one of my favourite experiences of 2025 and I seriously hope to see another game in a similar vein from them. I'll be thinking about this game for a long while and fully plan to go back and try to get all achievements to uncover other secrets I haven't found. I have done nothing but talk about this game to friends over the last week and will recommend it to anyone seeking a fun horror turn based RPG. Thanks for reading!
